I'm so sad. One of the greatest directors of all time, Ingmar Bergman, has died. I jusst got home and read the news. And now I feel I've been deprived of a truly special part of my life. Yes, life is unfair, you realize it when you see persons like this have to die, too.

This isn't probably very interesting news for most of the people of these forums, since Bergman is not a director very "easy" to understand, or much renowned among a younger audience.

I wanted to post this anyway, because Bergman's been - and will always be thanks to his masterpieces - a great influence and ispiration for many other directors. And he's been - and will be - important to me, because of the messages and beauty his films delivered throughout the years.

I was fascinated by the seventh seal when I was younger, younger. The feel of that film still has a profound effect on me still. I felt sad to hear that he had passed over, because he had a great vision. However, it is that vision that will out live us all.

Michelangelo Antonioni is also gone. And, I know it's silly, I feel guilty about it because yesterday, talking about older directors, I mentioned his name saying I knew he was ill and his conditions couldn't be very good, and I was relatively quite Bergman died while he was still alive after years and years of illness. And the fact I had to choose his name instead of others, and reading the news, that was creepy. And it's even creepier the fact it happened something similar when Katharine Hepburn and Gregory Peck died back in 2003. And Leni Riefestahl too. I had my say regarding their age etc., and a day later they were dead I think if it's not sixth sense, it's something else I don't want to say.
