Kurt Cobain
Tomorrow is the 5th of April, which by my mind makes it the tenth anniversary of Kurt Cobains untimely suicide. So yes. I feel it deserves to be marked for two reasons; The way the music scene was shaped and altered by Nirvana breaking the mainstream musical directions of the mid-nineties and the pure sadness of his end.
So yes, an incredibly flawed man yet one who inspired, and continues to do so. xx

Yes, Kurt Cobain was a great man indeed in his musical abilities. He brought real human emotion into the mix in a way that had not been done enough before. Let us also, not forget Layne Staley (of Alice In Chains, Mad Season) who died this same week, but 3 years ago. Rest in PEACE Layne and Kurt, who's voices ring on.

I'm glad this topic got posted.
Without Kurt Cobain and Nirvana who knows where music would be today - God forbid we'd all be listening to glam rock and synth pop. Nirvana was a major proponent of making popular music something that could be real and have true feeling behind it. They got to the top without sacrificing any of themselves and set an example that let good music come to the forefront, letting punk and indie sensibilities turn into mainstream songs. So! Let's remember the incredible contribution of Kurt Cobain (and Layne Staley -- Alice in Chains are pretty fantastic as well!). Now, all we need is another rock revival which, sadly, I can't see happening anytime soon. Those plastic rock bands that are doing so well these days aren't helping any. ![]() Everyone put on a Nirvana album tommorrow! |

I was also thinking of posting this topic... Kurt Cobain has been and will conitnue to be one of the greatest musicians of our and any time... If you really stop and think about it... where would music have gone without him?? would grunge have been that big??? i dont think so myself... but hey... anyways.... Here is to a great man that we all miss in one way or another... I am thankful that i have been able to hear the words of this visionary man through his band nirvana...
RIP KURT!

I'm a little late but yes Im glad this was posted..Nice to know ppl still remember the Original good stuff and not this new pop rock rubbish that's filling the minds of the next generation. I was watching the video for 'Smells like Teen spirit' today, this video always makes me sad especially at the very end when he pulls his little cheeky boy face, such a loss

Sorry for double posting...
Recently I've been feeling somewhat drawn to Kurt..I'm not sure quite how to explain it but for about a month I've been feeling the need to watch his vids and listen to his stuff ect.. Im not sure if subconciously I was thinking about the anniversary commin up coz consciously i'd totally forgotten about it this year but just something has been hitting me hard and I've been overcome with an immense sadness everytime it enters my mind.
Well because of this I've decided to have a Cobain Sigpic (which is in the making) and I was searching pics and came across this one which is such a beautiful picture I thought I'd stick it up in here... https://www.burntout.com/kurt/biography/kbaby.jpg Unfortunatly I also came across some disturbing pictures which made me so mad, Can't people be left alone even in death! I was stunned that these images were just allowed to be displayed like that for anyone to come across! Piggle ![]() x x x x
