Ninja Scroll The Series
Has anyone seen this yet? If not, and you're a fan of the original, it's worth going out and buying. I've always been a fan of the original and was impressed with the storyboard and animation of this follow up to Jubei's continuing journey as a sword for hire. If anybody knows anything about this series, could you tell me if just volume one has been released or if there are others out.

I didn't know that it had been licensed but I think there were 13 episodes released when it aired on Japanese TV.
I've only watched the first few so far but it looks to be pretty good. XXAVIERR, did you see it as a dubbed release - and if so, was it any good? |

I had heard about it being released on TV in Japan also, but didn't know it was out on DVD here in America. I just happened to be looking around in Best Buy last night and saw it sitting on the shelf.....had to have it. It was dubbed. Volume 1, which is all I saw on the shelf, is the first four episodes. I'm going to check with an anime distributor here in town to see if any more have been released yet. If you like the original then you'll enjoy watching this.

I bought vol 1 the day it came out, and wasn't too impressed. It was good and all, but a huge let down from the movie. The next volume comes out sometime in february, hopefully it'll pick itself back up a bit. Two move dvd's left of the series, and i'm still waiting for an actual story to develop.

Granted it wasn't as good as the original, but still one of the best anime I've watched in a while. As far as waiting for a story to develop, if you remember, it took a while for the story to develop in the original also.

How about some suggestions if I don't know what I'm missing out on. I'm not up on my anime as much as I use to be.

Well I'm sure you might of heard of alot of these before and I'm not exactly that up to the anime world as everyone else but here goes
Berserk: Very Mature, Dark, Anime. Set in the midevilish days with lots of sword play, dramatic scences and great voice acting. Personally One of my favorites. Oh yeah the series is also continued in the manga so if you want to see the rest get yourself the manga. Hellsing: Also very violent, Story of a organization "Hellsing" that goes around killing vampires with the help of A vampire Full Metal Panic: I don't know if I would classify it as an all out mecha anime, but it does have them. Accept there called armslaves. This anime has alot of good humor and a great story. Lots of military stuff in here. The main character revolves around a take everything to seriously military type. Excel Saga: The most damn funny and craziest anime ever!!! There is nothing that comes close to the amount of insane crap that this anime offers. It pretty much parodies every anime and does it well. You will enjoy this one alot if your in for humor Zoids (Not Choatic Century!): This is the competition and pilots battle with zoids to earn money and increase in rank to progess towards the S-Cup. It has a very good story and plenty of humor. Some may think of it as kind of childish due some of the cheap 3d animation but don't let that fool you. Its very good. Bastard: Another Midevilish type anime. It has a lot wizard stuff and some kick ass spells. The main character Dark Schnieder is what makes the anime great. His constant womanizing and smart cracks makes the anime hard to turn off and being one DVD its quite the deal. Also this series is continued in a Manga Dual: I was just introduced to this anime not to long ago. Its kinda hard to put a finger on what sort of anime it really is, but lets just say its got mech's and deals with parallel universes. It is made by the same people who do tenchi so you see the main character get a few ladies or should I just say there all like him. X: Very tragic anime dealing with destiny and such. Very good story and touching voice acting. If your into to total action animes stay clear, you'll get bored. Ok I'm running out of patience with typing so heres some more. Rahxephon Scryed Naruto His and Hers Puni Puni Poemi Crying Freeman Escaflowne Sorry that my descriptions suck. Some of these animes would take pages to describe.

With the exception of "Dual", I have seen all the your suggestions with descriptions of them....and yes, these are all good anime choices. Of the titles listed at the bottom, I've heard of a few of them, but never watched any. But, I know now what titles to go out and rent if not buy. Thanks for the info. I could add a few more to the list: Lain, Perfect Blue, Doomed Megalopolis, Akira(classic), too many to name, so I'll stop at that.
