Fortune Cookies
Does anyone have fortune cookies on a regular basis? I have had quite a few in my lifetime but I don't know whether I should "listen" to them are not. I always seem to get the ones that don't sound like me at all. The main reason why I think they seem like a sham is because of the Simpson's episode where Homer gets the fortune that he will find a new love. The only reason he gets that one is because the barrel of cookies that had stick with your wife was empty. This is the last one I got: You will live to a ripe old age; happy in love and respect of many children. Who writes this stuff because children don't respect anything in these times at least any that I know or have seen. What are your veiws or opinions on fortune cookies?

I have no particular view on fortune cookies, except that if you and your friends add "...in bed." to the end of ever fortune you get it can be pretty damn hilarious. Good times In your case, you would end up with: "You will live to a ripe old age, happy in love and with the respect of many children...in bed." That, my friend, is a knee slapper.

hahaha, thats great red, i needa try that from now on. my fortune's usually dont even sound like fortunes.. last time i got one it said something about me being charming, generous, handsome, and having all these other good qualities.. but i didnt quite see a fortune in there.. oh yeah, and they also have proverbs sometimes. not really a fortune, since it doesnt tell u a thing about the future...
i used to sell fortune cookies back where i worked, but i didnt eat any... i still dont, even at resturants, i just break it and read whats inside... |

So according to that one you are "charming, generous, and handsome...in bed. You should be pretty happy about that I would think.

I don't eat them either, because I think their taste is awful I prefer chocolates with messages, at least they're edible!
I only had few fortune cookies in my life, and I don't mind whatever is written in the message. I mean, I read it, but I don't pay much attention. They usually contain something that should sound like a wise advice or warning, but I'm too wise already to need to be warned by cookie |

I'm sure it's someone who just writes random things. I read and I usually think the ones I get sound pretty good, never tried adding "...in bed" to any of them. I can't even remember what the last one I had said, wesn't really too long before I had one last, oh well.

Last Fortune Cookie I had read "You'll live along and happy life". It's one of most common messages ever, isn't it?
Even if it's only random stuff written by someone who's paid for the job, I think finding positive messages is always nice, it can cheer you up. In the end you don't trust them, but it's still better than finding something negative |

Even though I used to work at a chinese resturant, I think fortune cookies are pretty stupid. Main reason cause they were invented in California. Bah, everything that comes from there is a scam.
Fortune cookies used to have fortunes on them but nowadays they mostly give advice or compliments. Its sorta of a workaround for not making people think thier fortunes will come true. Believe me... some people think they are real fortunes.

**gluttonous Hylas speaking** I've never had a fortune cookie in my whole life, but from what I know they're pretty awful to be cookies, and some of you seem to confirm it. Hidden message or not, if they taste bad I'll never be interested in trying them, in bed or not |

COncerning fortune cookies taste, I have noticed they taste different depending on the resturant. Once place fortune cookies may taste like cement while another's may taste like sweet cement.
