You hate reading in general? I like to read books, manga, etc..... If I don't find the subject interesting I really don't like reading it but I love finding a good book that makes me want to just keep reading.

I hate reading novels and other story books. I still don't mind reading magazines, video game strategy guides, instruction books, or in-game text though. Actually, I've only read 2 books I actually liked to read and one of them was DMX's autobiography.

I like magazines and comics. I have a short attention span, so I don't read novels.

I love reading! You can learn SO much from it!
I'm glad I have the ability and resources to read whatever and whenever I wish.

Why post and visit at a Forum if you dont like Reading?

I'm fond of a novel now and then, but not all the time. I really love those books with pointless information, such as "Worst Case Scenario". Hehe those books rule, I've got a lot of them like that.

For all of my life i've hated reading. What a waste of time. I was never very fast. The stories always bored the hell out of me and seemed to drag on no matter what part of the plot it was at. I would look at people who spend all day reading these huge 800 page novels, saying "don't you have anything better to do. My god i could never imagine reading that much!"

Then, after seeing Lord of the Rings, i felt that the only way i could truely call myself a die hard lotr fan would be if i had read the books. So i recently bought the all in one novel and it's probably the most fun i've ever had reading.

But that's it.

I love reading. I've always liked it, also when I was a kid I used to read a lot, probably because I was taught to read at the age of 3. Some books really changed my mind. Perspectives are enlarged whenever you pick a book and read it with some attention. Someone said "knowlegde is power" and from many points of view this is completely true. Books are one of the best forms of knowledge. I'm not speaking of knowledge you get when studying for school. In fact I think most of the things you learn thanks to the school system are completely unuseful. Everyone should be able to take care of his own culture. Books are good "speakers" and "teachers". They can open your mind. People who never read are very superficial IMO. Life can't be fun all the time. You cannot just sit and do things you like because they're entertaining. And btw, reading can also be fun. But fun is not the main factor, that's what I'm trying to say. You can never be aware of many things if you don't read anything. You'll always remain on a lower level if you don't give a damn about your own culture and you'll always be easily manipulated by media and/or cultured people.

Thats what I love about books.....thats what they do and that also in a magical way. I dont read that much, but when I do, a whole new picture is added to my life. A picture so large with never ending possibilities. Books are actually amazing....and reading is a very strong tool for life!

I hope I end up reading more later in the future.

I agree! Couldn't have said it better myself! I think it's sad that so many of you don't enjoy the wonder that is reading more often. Let me tell you...those creators of those videogames you've been playing...have done a LOT of reading of novels which a lot of you say are so tedious and not a valuable way to spend your time. Maybe you'd be able to enjoy these games, movies, comics, in a whole new way if you stretched your imagination in the oldest and greatest form of storytelling! Think about it!
I really can't say much more here...Fortune and a couple others said most of it.

Definately Rei, although it is much easier just to sit down in front of a TV, everybody should try and keep their minds active, by reading a book. Yes they have much more to offer, because you can learn more from them, more valuble information comes from books.

Everyone who says that has never really tried reading anything but the crap books that they give U in school. If you actually get your hands on and try reading something interesting you may change your mind. For me if im not interested in the book I cant and WONT even try reading it. But I read a couple like "Phantoms" by Dean Koontz, and A Painted House by John Grisham that were fantastic reads and not wastes of time by any means. If it takes you sch a long time to read a book that you think its not worth it then the problem is not with books or reading..its with you and your poor reading skills. What I love about reading Novels..magazines..etc is that its something you can do any time anywhere. I cant plug in a TV and watch my favorite movies after Science class is finished and Im sitting there bored but I can pop out a novel and read as much as id like. My point is Novels CAN be VERY worth while if you find one that gains your interest.

Read for your own sake :)

Reading is an essential part of life m8, when we read we're constantly revising the correct spelling and punuaction of words.

Though as you can tell some words have a tendency to evade me . But in general its good to read now and then, keeps your mind healthy and broadens your horizon's .

Reading is great. It opens your mind to new ideas. It often makes you look at something in another person's shoes. Though writing is still a differeny way of showing your opinion. It takes a great author to be able to agree with themselves and be able to disagree. And they show that struggle in an interesting way.

I will read almost anything (mainly History and Fantasy) except those love novels.... The first book I remember reading and liking was The Giver. Then after that I read LOTR and have read a lot more since then.

I think that the books I have read in school have mostly been great. The only one I remember not liking was some Ray Bradbury book.
