I've been playing FFVII since Christmas and I was wondering what characters everybody has in their parties when they play. I always have Cloud, Barrett, and Vincent, since those are the strongest characters on my game (Tifa would be in my party, but I'm at a point in the game where she's not available. She's one of my weaker characters but her Limit Break makes up for everything).

First game I played all I had were the ones that join your party without effort so in that one I used Cloud, Tifa, and Barret(couldn't beat Safer Sepgiroth on tha one wihtout a code). Then I decided to play again after I found out how you get Yuffie and Vincent, in thet one I used Vincent, Cloud, and Tifa.

Cloud, Cid, Red XIII / Barrett. I'll put the rest in the party every now and then, usually if I think their presence makes more sense (like Vincent vs Hojo for instance), but those are the four that I usually use

I usually use Cloud, Yuffie, and Red. I like Tifa for Cloud, story wise, but she's really not that good of a character. Red is really cool, and he's pretty strong.

As for Cait Sith, if you can hear this... *** ***** **** *** and your **** ** ****** ************ with your ******* too!!!!

I used Cloud, Vincent and Cid from the time Vincent was available. Before that I used Cloud, Barret and Tifa or Red XIII. I used Cid and Vincent at the end because I got Yuffie really late in the game and I found their ultimate weapons and limit breaks first. I didn't like Cait Sith that much and Tifa was too weak.

I never had problems beating the end bosses because I had the knights of the round summon. I would have lost quickly to either of the weapons though.

I use Cid, Cincent, Cloud.

Until I got Cid, I used Cloud, Vincent, Aeris

Until I got Vincent, Cloud, Barret, and Aeris I think.

I use Cloud, Red XIII , and Tifa or Cid. All the others I only use if I have to. They suck so much because i never use them. Tifa is a good character because her limit break is awsome. I only use Cid because I think he is cool. Red XIII has always been my strongest guy. Cloud's omnislash limitbreak is the best ever,thats why I like him.

Currently I'm using Cloud, Yuffie, and Red XIII. This is the first time I've used Yuffie and Red seriously but they're great. I originally was using Yuffie just to try to get her to go on the date with Cloud at Gold Saucer. Although I messed that up somewhere, Yuffie is maxed out and I wouldn't trade her for anyone at this point. Usually though, I use Cloud, Tifa, and Vincent.......but I like to change it up every now and then.

It's always nice to change it up sometimes. In my first game I just didn't bother with the chocobo breeding because I didn't all the good stuff you get from doing it and I didn't know that VIncent or YUffie were optional characters until I realized I couldn't beat Safer Sephiroth.

LOL. I can see where it would be difficult to beat Sephiroth without the Knights of the Round summon. I had all the characters when I beat him both times I completed the game. And both times Vincent was one of my strongest characters so I don't know if I could have done without him. But I could have done without Yuffie and Cait Sith. They were my third party that stood back and healed my characters during the battle

Bah! FFVII is probably the easiest FF game. I have beat in using the minimalist approach - in other words fighting only the battles that you have to, and running away from every other battle.

The hardest battles were Demon's Gate and Materia Keeper - after that everything else was a sinch!

But back on topic, whenever I play FFVII normally I tend to keep with the characters you first start off with. Unless I have to, I don't tend to deviate from a combination of Cloud, Barret, Aeris, Tifa and Red XIII.

How did you manage that? Even when i didnt run away from one battle, and in some areas battled more to get higher exp, i found some of the bosses tricky, and by the time you reach the end, just the exp from the bosses probably wouldnt have even leveled up any materia.

First time i played i got caught out on the Materia Keeper, that boss is one of the hardest in the game, because of his strength quite early in the game.

My party when i completed it again last month was Cloud, Tifa and Nanaki, Barret has a bad mouth and talks/looks too much like Mr.T
I thought Cait Sith was cool Quite powerful, and got me out of tricky situations with the Dice Limit Break.

The first time i beat FF7 I used Cloud, Nanaki, and Barret. But since then I've always used Cloud, Cid, and Vincent. I love Cid because I think he has the best personality out of all the characters, and he cusses constantly. I always name him after myself and I will spend as much time as I possibly can playing the part where he leads the party. I like vincent because he looks so cool and his limit breaks are very useful if you get him early in the game. Also, he's my best friends favorite character. I usually use barret and nanaki before those charactes are accessible...actually if I had my way I would trade cloud out for nanaki.
