Question Does luck really exist?

Do you think something like luck really exists or is it only a human creation able influence people's mind so much to improve the quality of their actions and/or lives? If for you luck exists, do you think it's absolutely impossible to face some events without its help and influence?

Luck is just a label for a coincidence. Good luck = something good randomly happens to you. Bad luck = something bad randomly happens to you. So I guess I would say luck doesn't exist, it's just a whole bunch of good or bad coincidences in the same day. Does anyone understand that or am I just rambling on?

I dont think luck does exist. If something happens, lets say something like a book falls off a table and just misses somebodys foot, they will say "That was lucky it didnt land on my foot" but its not luck its just coincidence. I dunno why ppl believe in luck. Its just the way things happen. But thats just my opinion.

I think luck is a man made idea to try and understand coincidence. I think the same for Religion too, but thats just my opinion.

But I dunno, there have been days when I've been extremely lucky, and it's hard to accept it as a big coincidence, but who knows?

dontcha just hate it when someone comes up with somthing that makes too much sense of the topic, and potentially stops the discussion dead in it's tracks? Unless Luck is a "positive virus" that you can contract like flu.... Just like Sexual Magnetism

you can also think of luck as another name for coincidence, bad coincidence = bad luck and good coincidence = good luck.

Luck doesnt exist. It's also kind of an insult when you do something good and somebody says that it was just pure luck. But luck is also an excuse, because when someone has alot of bad things happen to them, they say that they're having bad luck.

Luck does exist. I have no idea what kind of crack you all are smoking. Saying that luck doesn't exist. Then who do you explain Squaresoft make a stat "LUCK" on their FF games. If luck doesn't exist, then it wouldn't be an video games.

Besides, someone needed to go to the other side of this or this thread'll die faster than my friends playing Melee.

No such thing in my opinion.

Althrough I wonder if luck doesn't exist then does chance exist?

Since chance can be determined by math right?

That's right, but how can luck be measured? I don't think it can.

Luck does exist, especially in sports. You cant tell me its coincedence that a goalie has his stick in the right place at the right time, or that it just happened that the wind blew a fly ball out of the park in baseball. It has to do with a little luck...Its like getting a break in some kind of sport. For instance bowling, you throw a great ball 10 times in a row, 9 out of 10 times the ball is going to make a strike, the other time you leave a pin standing. Its coincedence that you threw the same ball 9 out of 10 times and one of those times you just missed one. I don't believe it, its just bad luck. The pins just didnt work for you once. If you can do something over and over and over again the right way and just once get a bad break, its not coincedence.

What about gambling, its coincedence that you bet on the right fighter, its coincedence you picked the 6 digits and win a million bucks. Nah, its all the "LUCK OF THE DRAW" I can't see every situation being coincedence.
