I just recently got FFVII... true I've had the PC version for ages, but I needed the PSX version because the PC version is so stubborn and un-workable...
Anyways... good luck with VII. You can't go far wrong with it, and many say it's the best, or a least second best. It isn't awful hard, but it can be very long (says me at level 50 on Disc 1 after 20hrs of Limit Break levelling...) Also, as you're going through first time, can everyone please try extra-specially hard to not mention any important FFVII scenes... This story is far too good to spoil (and resist the temptation to look at FFVII spoilers Solid: Snake...)

Anyways, its good that you finally decided to pick up this game. I have had it for five years now, and I still play it. The materia system is 2nd only to the JP system of FFT. The story and music were perfect. Plus, Aeris is so...sorry, Y chromosome kicking in. Need any help, ask us, as we can give better advice than any walkthrough could.

Ah I love it when someone plays FFVII...it's about the greatest decision you could ever make. This game got me hooked on RPG's and I hope it does the same for you. But it's been so long I doubt I can remember anything from it so its best to ask Mourdor, artist or Soul if you have a question, they know what they're talkin about.
Good Luck man

Aye, this is definitely one of the best games I've ever played. And you know what? Jenova kills Barret!!!!!
FF7 IMO this game had the best storyline in all the FF's I played (7, 8, 9 , and 10 ) And forgot to say, I'm glad you got that wonderful game ^_^
