In a way, i think the flaws evident in the FF7 girls can be seen in many of the females.... theres always 3 nowadays and the first two are always a selections of "Strong willed / love-sick / forelorn" etc. and the Third is always "Spunky / Young / Small / Amusing" ... I really think that Square should start putting a little more effort into creating a few more viable Females, instead of having an excellent Male cast only. Only Freya has recently managed to be different (and apparently excellent) , and I'll complement Relm as well because the "Loud-mouthed kid / Pictomancer" combination is the only one that has never truely been copied... i'll add Terra in there as well because she did Tifa's thing a little better (ie. the reasoning behind her sorrow was not based entirely on the sterotypical "love-sick" teen route. She actually felt like an alien to the others because she was different, and not because she happned to be Female!)

Tifa was a step in the right direction, as it's always refreshing to see a "Tough" Girl... but It just irritates me that if a girl is over 10 in these games, that she has to be primarlily concerned with finding love and moaning about it the whole time. Plus, her "strength" was rendered rather obsolete given the fact that her stongest attack would not always be excuted 100% of the time - even if it was only as strong as any of the rest of the supporting cast.

Tifa rocks in FF7. I almost always have her in my team. Her limit breaks does a lot if you can do it right. I was glad Aeris died because her limit breaks only healed your guys. She was so weak. When I play FF7 i always have Red 13 and Tifa or Cid on my team. I trade Tifa in for Cid sometimes because he is so cool. Tifa is one of the best people in FF7.

She is. I like to use her and Vincent in my party and Red XIII is also cool.

I disagree. It does as much as any other FF7 character's best (except cloud's which is obviously going to be better), and has the added nuisence that you're not going to get it 100/100 times. Aeris' was indeed useless, but it may have actually had a better function later in the game, against the real powerful bosses...
