One of those days

This past week has been pretty stressful work-wise and family-wise so I drew this one night. This is 'Forrest', a basic representation of me (a real dog, eh?!). And I'm feeling much better now, thank you.

Is it watercolor? I think watercolors are great for these kind of things, much better than digital. It's less... how can I say? Less cold. It fits the pensive pose, which I like very much.

this is easily the prettiest image i've seen you come up with - the emotions contained within the image are helped through a combination of colours (even the paper you draw on fits well), pose and expression, all expertly captured. The sketchy fur effect only adds to the effectual realism of the picture. Loveable and great

Its actually digital! This program called OpenCanvas, it's really nice, and the effect I used it called watercolour! Mwah! Trixie!

Hee Hylas, I think you might be right! If I brush my hair when its dry it kinda just goes big and puffy. I usually shower at night then wet it in the morning so it goes into ringlets, but when im tired or just dont have the gumption to wet it I just brush it.. hence why its like that in the piccy! ^^

Im really pleased with this because of the emotion I was able to convery. Pleasing art usually carries a mood to it, so I'm glad you said so!

I too, as others, like the pose and expression of this work, which captures very well your emotion. And as the_artist, I also find the coice of the paper very suitable for the mood of the subject.

Open Canvas is a cool program! I only used it few times, but the watercolour effect was great: it seemed real enough to give a different feeling to an otherwise flat digital way of colouring.

Whoa! That's an awesome self-portrait! Is it you, right? At least from what I read, Forrest it's you. The coloring is amazing! Very intense expression of your feelings!
