We always knew that Final Fantasy X-2 would get a UK release... eventually. Well, it's that little bit closer today with the news that the games publishing behemoth that is Electronic Arts have signed up to release the PAL version of Square's latest RPG epic.

While an exact on-sale date hasn't been confirmed, EA have said that FFX-2 will hit shelves in 'early 2004'. It was originally released in Japan back in March.

The game marks a dramatic turning point in the evolution of Final Fantasy in that, as the follow-up to FF X, it is the first true sequel in the long-running series. As such, RPGers have been getting in a right old flap about the prospect of the game, with early import reviews suggesting that it will more than live up to expectations.
