Here's the discussion thread of Silent Hill theories and questions I wanted to start. Since SH3 is just around the corner and it is a game that seems to create more questions than give answers we should have some fun with this. I hope Harry gets in on this one. yeah, i thought about that one myself as well. Although, in the end of the trailer for 3 it seems PH is returning.

Also there's two pyramid heads...

I initially thought it was his guilt, that Silent Hill was feeding off of.. it is in part. Above all else though, it seems to be his fear and despair that Silent Hill feeds off of the most. For Harry it was the same, except he was more of a pawn in a scheme. His situation was different, but more importantly his perception of SH was alot more wicked than that of James.

It's as if Silent Hill's alternate reality, was more similar to James' own reality.. he was already broken down, even before entering Silent Hill. Harry on the otherhand, he seemed like a character with more of a strong will. Silent Hill had to really pull out all it's tricks to break him down.

Yes...Silent Hill in Silent Hill 2 is more of a depressing and lonely place (almost more anxiety laden this way) than in SH1...thus suiting what James has been going through for the past 3 years since Mary died and that feeling of unnameable guilt that goes with depression (this is one reason why I think the makers of SH are psychological geniuses) so that is perhaps why this particular

twist of James actually having something to have had to feel guilty over all this time is such a shock because it is any suicidal person's worst fear...that they're guilt is real and not just playing tricks on them.

Oh and perhaps more important

is the theory that SH1 and SH2 are both stories of men who find out they have condemned themselves to hell ( i heard SH3 may be different in this respect, btw)...and this theory goes perfectly with the idea of the guilt being real instead of imagined. This being one of the true horrors of the Silent HIll series so far (?!?)...So yeah...

Sorry I am being kind of vague...I am tired and I also would need to go back and remember the 2 games more clearly to put the details into words.
