Sad news, my two hamsters, Pip and Squeak died today. Both of them were pretty old, and oddly enough they died together, not more than 3.5 hours apart. *Sniffles*

Yeah, I know how you're feeling. This is a bad period for me as well. My grandmother died some days ago and my cat hasn't returned yet, and I think it's kinda definitive.
I don't understand people who think the death of an animal is a stupid thing. Maybe they just don't love animals at all ![]() I know it sucks, when you lose your pets. Anyway, all I can say is to cheer up a little, even if you find hard to do it at this moment. Banal to say, but time heals. Time will pass and you'll start thinking about the death of your hamsters in a different way. It's really bad you lost them at the same time, really really bad, but thinking about it over and over again won't help you. Animals have a strange way to disappear, both when they go away or when they die Yuo'll never know why this happened, and I don't think you should think about it at this moment. So, just try to focus your attention on anything else. It's difficult, but it helps.*offers some cookies* |

I suppose you should only think about the fact you gave them a precious gift, that was being loved and staying in your house, where you took care of both of them. Many people have pets, but they just don't care much about them. So, this is really sad, because animals are not stupid, and they know if they're loved or not.

I'm really sorry, Iguana. It's always sad to hear when a pet passes away.

Man, this is so dumb, I met my friends, about 20 of them, and only person felt my pain. Every single other person said I'm dumbass for even caring.

But you know they're the dumbasses, not you
![]() Let them say whatever they want. They probably don't even know what owning a pet means. They probably think owning a pet is like getting a toy, so, when the toy is broken, they can get a new one. I guess they don't even care a person can feel affection for a pet... poor them

That is sad. I'm sorry they died. Your friends are really inconsiderate for saying that.

Man, that really sucks, but as everybody else said, better to just let go of that the sooner you can. Of course it's a thousand times easier to say it than to do it. That is one of the main reasons I still don't have a pet... because I love animals, and I know that if I had a pet I would love it like if it was my little brother or soemthing... actually my step dad had a little doggy like 2 years ago, and I came to visit, and i really loved that stupid dog... well, now the dog got lost before I came here again, and just to think about him makes me feel sad. And yes, no offense but your friends are stupid idiots. (regarding that, at least) And always remember what Fortune said, that precious gift you gave them, which I'm sure was returned by them as well. Animals DO give love if it's given to them.
Hey Fortune, I'm sorry to hear that about you That kind of periods in life are very hard to go through, but unfortuantely they are unavoidable and it's in one's own decision the key to make them "softer" I don't think I need to tell you this anyhow. Just to let you know that I got concerned.

... I'm sorry to hear about that. I kept hamsters a while ago, and its a real shock to loose somthing so wonderful as life, even when its a pet's. i cried for ages when my first Hamster passed away, even though it only survived a few months! My next two got more tears, especially the last one (It died on christmas day )... But they're remembered for the good times, and the least I could do was giving them a decent burial (a flora pot, Sawdust, Fluffy bedding and some sunflower seeds for the journey )And i'm sad to hear Fortune's news as well, but they'll always be good time ahead: The future and the past are both worth smiling at, after-all

I'm so sorry for you Iguana! Some time ago my dog was stolen by unknown people and it was really terrible to lose him! So, I understand how you're feeling and I'm sorry for you!

Thank-you for the consolations, all of you. Well, for some good news, my roommates in college got two new hamsters for me after they heard about Pip and Squeak. It's not them, but I'm kinda happy.

Good for you, that you can have a couple of new hamsters! They're not the previous ones, but do they have to be like them? You'll love them as you loved the other ones!
