What you need
Cable or DSL , Network Adp. A Router And A patch cord the difference with this cord as to a phone cord is the jack a phone uses an rj11 jack and the patch cord from your computer uses an rj45 jack which a bigger jack and it carries more data. I would suggest a Cat 6 or Cat5e
