parental control

i have an older playstation2 that im giving to a neighbor but cant remember the parental code is there any way to bypass it or get the code out of it.thanks for any help

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

You can reset the password. Just enter 7444 when prompted to input the password. The old password will be deleted; you can now enter a new password or leave it blank.

I suppose this makes the parental code thing quite useless, doesn't it? Especially if you consider kids are often smarter than their parents.
