Which Web Browser?

This thread comes up once In a while, but what WebBrowser do you all use? Here are the contenders (AFAIK)
Internet Explorer
Netscape
Mozilla
Firefox (Next-Gen Mozilla)
Opera
Safari

Personally, I don't doubt that most people are using IE... but compared to every other Browser about its really dragging it's Knuckles. I'm a firefox user (and I've just started using Thunderbird, its email-client sister program). IE would be uninstalled but for the 1% of websites that occasionally are unreadable in Firefox... oh, and I think that its impossible to get rid of it anyway (damned monopoly)

IE, but it is not very reliable. Used to have Nescape too for a period of time, but it gave me even more troubles to have both installed

The U.S goverment is officially suggesting to ppl to change to a browser other than IE..due to its being incredibly unsecure. I myself have been using an SBC browser that came with my Internet set up. That, along with this new Wiewpoint browser tool bar I downloaded have proven ideal

Up until about four days ago, I was using IE. But then I was hit with some kind of virus that messes it up. So I switched to Firefox (Which I luckily had installed), and it's proven pretty good. It takes a little getting used to, but the in-built pop-up blocker is a saint.

I have installed and use more than one browser, usually IE, Opera and Mozilla.

Sorry to go kinda off topic but...
I need someone's help.. My IE has gone crazy.. I cannot use it at all as everytime I do it closes my computer down and the shutdown button comes up and then if i click cancel everything crashes.. also IE pop up windows keep popping up and crashing my computer even when I don't have IE open..!?!?
I've used the add/remove thig to try and fix it but it doesn't seem ot have done anything...
Can anyone give me any advice at what to do?
I was going to delete it and d/l it again... but I'm a bit clueless with computers so i'm not sure if this is a good idea or even possible...

Help me

Good ol' IE... up to it's old tricks again. Have you run a virus checker? sounds like your PC is ill....

I Personally find that it's hard to suggest a course of action with this kind of thing, because, I'd just format the Hard-Disk and reinstall everything... (I haven't done this for about 10 months now - thats some kind of record. The secret to my PC's longer life? Olivio, Firewall, Firefox, AVG Virus Checker and Spybot search and destroy.) I'd not recommend that to anyone who didn't consider themselves confident with computers.... so if It persists, perhaps you should call up your PC manufacturer, or a Tech-Wise Girl or Guy?

Oh, and If anyone knows how to revert back to a previous firmware version on a DVD-R drive, i'd be very interested to know. In addition, if anyone knows how to do the above when the DVD-R Drive in question prevents my computer from getting past the second BIOS screen, I'd be VERY interested. Apparently, I don't need IE to screw up and throw £60 down to the Mr Hankey Canal.

A combination of firefox (such a pretty name. makes me think of fox cubs and fox glove and foxes) and I.E (not such a pretty name. makes me think of brick walls and bashing of heads against).

There is a neat extension script for Firefox that adds a "View Page in IE" option to the right click menu that I found recently (Its really handy, If you haven't come across it alreadylink)... there is also this one ^_^

I've never had any problems with IE. As long as you run the updates at the microsoft site, don't worry about it.

Internet Explorer 6.1 here. Tried Netscape before, years ago, because I wanted another browser instead of Explorer, but it completely messed up my pc! I've heard Mozilla is the basic version of Netscape. I could try that one instead, just for when Explorer gives me problems.
