Monkey Island 2. I love all MI games, but the second episode is still the best game I can think of. I've never had so much fun playing a game. It's been a special gaming experience, also because it was some years ago and certain types of games were still a novelty.
Other games I could list as special gaming experiences I particularly enjoyed, meaning for some reasons I loved them more or they had a greater emotional impact than others, are the first Legend of Zelda for NES (I think the one mentioned also by Solid: Snake), Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy VII & IX. Anyway, it's unfair to choose only one game, because many games have aspects you love or enjoy and picking one or even just few titles means forgetting others. Too many others... |

Obviously Mario on the Nes as this was my first real journey into the gaming world..and from that day on I was hooked!
But since then some games stick in my mind..... Lost Vikings 2 on the Playstation was great! Alex Kidd on The Sega Master System, I loved that game!! And GTA:Vice City will always be a fave of mine too! Oh and Rainbow Island..Who remembers that? The memories! Great Stuff! Piggle x x x x

ok have to agree tombe raiders but only to a certain game because i am sorry but angel of darkness was lame, and for being delayed for so long it still had loads of glitches, but again thats just my oppinion (dino crisis ruled!!!)
okies my top faves would be 3. Icco -=- the enviorment and graphics in this game where beautiful 2. resident evil -=- need i say more 1. anything final fantasy that entire series was great. never fails to be game of the year and never fails to sell over millions but, alas as difficult as it is for me to chose hands down my pick for the greatest game of all time is FINAL FANTASY VII this games was great even if it was for ps1 its an rpg classic and anyone who has truely experineced this game even if they don't vote it the greatest still will understand were i am coming from

Final Fantasy VII. I played it through eight times in a row. I love the game more than anything ever. I've actually lost my copy in all the moving I've done over the years so I'm going to try and pick up another soon and give it another whirl.
Other games? Half Life, Monkey Island 1 & 2 (and Loom I guess. Amiga legends), Sensible World of Soccer (Amiga again) and Final Fantasy VI.

Probally Metal Gear Solid is the best game off all time and p*sses down on all games, any one around at the time of its release KNOWS how big it was, the only game i've seen to sell out in all shops, posters, boards everywhere, not even GTA VC sold like that. And maybe goldeneye is my fav too.

half-life was a good game and metal gear was good but the second was not to my liking although it was challenging, but they just added to many twists that it seemed kinda dumbe then again i did not like ryden so maybe thats it lol but no metal gear is another example of excellent games
