How/Where did you get your PS2?

I remember it was a Sunday afternoon and after church I went with my mom to Best Buy. I walked right by a huge stand that said PS2 by it and went to the electronic department. When I saw nothing I asked the Best Buy worker if they had any in stock and he pointed to the Ps2 stand and they had 20 of them right under the desk. Then I just remember playing all of my games that I got before my I could get my PS2.

It was a school day when the PS2 launched, otherwise my sister and I would've slept outside of Best Buy like everyone else in my town did.

So, with that plan being out, my sister rushed to Best Buy early in the morning and waited there. There were so many people sleeping outside and when Best Buy finally opened their doors everyone rushed in. My sis was so pissed because when she finally got to the clerk handing out the PS2s, the guy in front got the last one.

She went over to Target to get one, but they were all sold out too. So, then..........later in the day, she and I went onto Ebay and bid like crazy to get one. So, we were able to get our US PS2 on the launch date, but didn't actually get it until a few days later.

I got mine about a year after it was realeased. It sucked. I saved up just barely enough to get it. And now I have one, but no games, just a bunch of DVD's that have learned to call it "home".

i got mine the same way i went to see if they had them but nobody had them so i got one on ebay.

I pre ordered mine 7 months in advance and was one of the first to get it.

Lucky you, SSSnake. I would've pre-ordered mine too, but the stores in my goddamn town doesn't take pre-orders....

I got up at about 5:30 (launch day) and went to Target at about 7:30. They opened at 8:00 and I got mine then.
We got 3 of them altogether. I kept one, and my Mom and Dad sold the other two on ebay.

I hadn't saved up enoug money for any games, so I had to wait all day until I was finally able to go rent some. I was in SSOOO much pain, seeing my PS2 and not being able to play it.

I remember SSSnake bragging about having his pre-order. He kept flaunting it and bringing games in to brag. I admit it, I was a little jealous, because I had no money at the time.

I got mine a long time after the launch. December 2001, I finally had enough money to buy it. I'm so glad I have it now. Can't wait til PS3 comes out. I'll be sure to money then.

Hmm... I got mine early in January of this year...

Many people around here already had theirs and I was stuck waiting...and waiting until my parents finally agreed.
I remember it was a Saturday and it was raining. Still, my parents had agreed to buy it for me and I wasn't going to let rain get in my way. Me and my dad went over to Best Buy... sold out.
We went to Toys R Us... sold out. I was mad!! How could they have been sould out?!? Then it hit me... it had been because of X-mas

We drove around for nearly 3 hours! Needless to say, my dad was getting annoyed. It was then when I opted for my last option... the dreaded mall. I had never seen the place so full!
I rushed into Sotware something... and there was a looooooooooong line.
After what seemed like a decade, I was finally able to get to the register. There they had it for $300 plus an extra $25 with some other little "fees"

*Sigh* Well, I ended up paying up $340 something for it... I swear, they don't rip anybody off worse than in this state!!
But hey, I got it! ... along with the flu

I'm actually quite pissed, I got it 3 weeks ago, from my step brother, he had it like for 3 months but he rarely used it, barely to watch some DVD's....so I told him to sell it to me in a lower price, and he did, and that is one of the first fruits of my own effort, that is, I payed for it with my first paycheck

That afternoon, I went to electronic boutique and got FFX that game is da bomb! (but damn, I already finished it......)

Yesterday afternoon I bought Metal Gear Solid 2 and Virtua Fighter 4. Those games are the Holy Shi+!

But well, I got the nice surprise that the PS2 was now 200 dollars, damn, that hurts like hell. Just had to wait 3 weeks..........

Bah, but 'm happy I got it either way

I got mine on launch day in the UK (Nov 27th 2000) having pre-ordered it some months before hand. I picked up a memory card, SSX and Timesplitters too. Although I did take Timesplitters back cos I didn't like it.

£300 it cost me and I have never regretted it.

Got mine right at launch... But the thing is, is that i got so frickin' lucky. I went in there on luanch day, at like 4 o' clock pm, and ordered it, amazingly i got it within the next two days, cus some idiot never picked their ps2 up!! i was a very happy camper.

I got GTA III, Red Faction, All Star Baseball 2002, and Twisted Metal Black with the system.

I got it on launch day, (france: nov21 2000) I couldn't go to the store (Virgin) during the entire day coz of other works, but I finally got there at 11:30PM, and picked up my PS2, having ordered it 3 months in advance.

I picked up only the demo cd w/my PS2, the next day i bought TimeSplitters but honestly the game sucks so much!!! I had to wait a long time till I got enough money to buy another game, if I remember correctly Smuggler's Run. I then played that for a very, very, very long time

With my Xbox, though, nowhere near the same financial problems: I had $1000 saved up!!
