1 week till Episode II

I dont know about you guys, but i cant wait for this sequel. I already have five tickets for next thursday. Me and a couple of friends are taking off of school for the voyage. Is it just me or is anyone else out there excited??

I can NOT wait! I'm hoping to go see it as soon as possible. I'm going to watch all of the old ones in the next couple of days so I've got the story refreshed in my mind.

I cant even count how many times I saw the Originals!! I remember the first time I saw it. I was at a babysitters house and my friend asked me to watch it, and I haven't stoped since. I hope episode II is better in every way, although episode I wasnt all that bad. Darth Maul was one of the best villans ever (too bad hes dead) and you get to see the origin. Oh well, just six more days....

Well, I think ppls expectancy for this movie is so high, that after somebody sees it. They always go "meh, it's wasn't as good as I thought it would be", the more and more ppl say that, the less money that move makes.

Episode 1 was definitely overhyped. the plot and the acting stunk, and Jar Jar .........*cringes*. But I look a the good things from Ep 1: The pod race, the lightsaber duel, The cool giant fish, etc. I feel Clones will be the Star Wars I was hoping for 3 years ago. Check this out:

Sadly, unlike some of you guys, I haven't bought tickets in advance yet. So I guess I'll just have to be like the rest who wait until a week or so after the movie's release since tickets will probably be sold out within the first couple of days.

The plot of Ep. 1 was mediocre, but not horrible.. it's execution was off, though. The direction seemed a bit choppy and the scenes intermingled too much to be relavent to each other 100% of the time. Jar jar was okay to me the first couple of times.. but then people started imitating him, and clips pretty much became "mesa this" or other such jamaican speak.. It became very annoying very fast.

The lightsaber duel and the podrace were undisputedly the best aspects of the movie though.. I saw a comic strip after the movie came to video about two star wars fans just fast fowarding through the movie and watching the duel and the podrace over and over, then a third fan came along and said "midi-chlorians" and they covered thier ears. ... I still don't know what the hell lucas was thinking about those midi thingamabobles.

All in all though.. what completely and utterly ruined Ep. 1 for me was Anakin.. I could have done better freakin' acting when I was a kid.. and I was ADD ridden, having all the attention span of a GNAT to work with..! Especially when compared to Liam and Ewan (even Natalie, who's relative acting skill showed through that dull monotone she was forced to use through most of the movie), the kid was awful... as was the mom. *shrugs* Other than that, I really liked....uh.. the Jedi battle and the podrace.

From what I am seeing though, Ep. II is going to be better.. even from just the snippets I have seen it looks as if it is going to be less kiddie-fied.. and Hayden is worlds better than the brat who played Anakin before. I haven't bought tickets in advance, though.. so I'm probably gonna need to go through the next couple of weeks plugging my ears during conversations.

Edit: Blinks. At. Yoda. .....*jaw drops* Good god!

Well, Ive done it. I started the countdown last night. A New Hope last night, Empire Strikes back tonight, Return of the Jedi, Episode 1, then on thurs. EPISODE II !! I keep getting more and more pumped up! I even bought a lightsabre to take to the opening! as well as the Star Wars version of Stratego.

Just got my tickets for Ep II right now! Woo hoo. Booked them for the 12:05 (16th May) showing in my local cinema!!!

That'll be about 19:05 15th May (I think) for you guys in the US!!! So, how's it feel knowing I'll be able to see it before the rest of you non-UK residents!!! Heh heh!

I promise I won't post any spoilers but I will post a simple verdict as soon as I return.
