North American Application for FFXI Beta (and other misc stuffs)

yup. For all those living in the USA and Canada, you can now skip off over to www.square-enix-usa.com and try to get onto the Beta test for either the PS2 or PC version of the game (apply to both apparently nulifies your chances

)... beware though, this is by no means new news, so you better get your bottoms into gear!!!

in the meanwhile, the Japanese version of FFXI recently got upgraded to handle the Ziraat expansion that was released on the same day: amoung the features of the free upgrade was an incentive to go and buy the expansion: low level summons. yayness!

also in Japan, only 1 month after it's release, FFX-2 has alledgedly gone Double Platinum (2 million copies right?). now thats quick! they're selling like hotcakes... or faster still, hot-cakes with final fantasy written on the icing!

and Square Europe have just announced that they'll release good ports of Chrono Cross, FF Tactics and Xenogears.

It does say "May be" though. They'll get a lot of applications, so I reckon that you'll only loose your chance if they find your name twice: the only way I can see that happening, is if you get selected for both (and how unlikely is that?)

I just signed up for the PC version, since that's where I have my DSL plugged into (downstairs) and it has the more powerful graphics hardware.

Note that I'm staying away from any "official" square enix message boards though, for fear of misinformation.
