The only time I will hate love stuff in anime is if that's what the show is primarily about, I hate it when all there is is the love stuff and not much action going on. I would like to watch the Japanese-subtitled stuff if only I could get away from reading the words and watching what's going on and then watch it a cond time reading the dialogue.

And because of the horrible dubbing going on, I've been watching subs for about 4 years now, with the exception of a few animes, I would watch as dubbed since they're pretty good...but I won't mention them here....I might get ridiculed for thinking so.

I, personally, can't see how you can stand listening to the subbed versions but that's just me. I want to sit back and soak it all up and not have to worry about reading. Though I don't know if I would prefer a bad dub over a sub.
I also like the series to have at least good visual quality. I mean I am *watching* something and I want to get the best vision I can of the characters and the surrounding. And if the main character is too much of a pretty boy or too much of a blockhead or too dumb (You get my point) then I wont watch it. |

The main things I hate in anime are crappy plots, bad animation, and bad dubs.

Well, being the very ungirly person I am, I prefer the fast action, heart pounding, steel and blood kind of anime... Mobile Suit: Gundam Wing, Ninja Scroll...Ninja Scroll not so much. Angel Sanctuary, Galaxy Express 999, along with others. But love is one of the most interesting, and compelling aspects in any media work. But only if its done right. I am a big fan of SM, but the love in that is not the kind im talking about.
I mean the kind like in Angel Sanctuary. A deep, true emotional love, much stronger then the "Oh I love you!" "I love you to!" "Lets hug!" "Ok!". Anyways, I'm all for love stories... Most of my guy friends are to, but they feel if they admit they do they will be called "Gay" by their peers. And guys with roses are totally my thing! |

Anyway, I just think that the 3 guys(that George guy in G Gundam, James in Pokemon, and the guy with the tuxedo in Sailor Moon) in anime I have seen with roses are kinda weird acting. |

I just like the rose as a symbol. Beautiful, but deadly. Its a much better trade mark then a necklace or ring or something. Like the general treize in Gundam Wing is the best example of a rose carrier. Tuxedo mask...only good in japanese. In english I want to kick his pathetic ass.

A good anime with major use of roses is Shoujo Kakumei Utena. The guys in there have roses pinned to their shirts for dueling and a bit of "romantic" flair, but it's not as annoying as when other anime guys use it. Like Valkrie said, Tuxedo Mask in the English version.

Yeah I have to agree with Valkrie about Treize from Gundam Wing being the best "rose person".
It is my opinion that Sailor Moon is the worst anime next to Hamtaro (If Hamtaro is even an anime). And Tuxedo Mask was the worst character in sailor moon. The only thing I really like about Sailor Moon is when they changed into sailor scouts But I have not seen the Japanese version so don't totally hate me... Oh and Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho (or Ghost Rider I think) is pretty cool too.

Yep, he's got a rose. But I guess unlike some of the other guys you mentioned (especially Tuxedo Mask) he really doesn't throw it around.

Well Zechs...Milliardo..Wind..Whatever! . The english version of sailor moon is not like the english version of other animes.
Sailor Moon was not censored. The plot itself was changed greatly. Why? Mostly because the japanese version dealt with serious issues, and the Senshi were all very independant, strong people... So the censors said '' Well... I know! Let's make them ditsy girls and have them obsess over boys and be like stereotype cheerleaders!" And then it changed over to "Lets turn it into an afterschool special!with happy friendship and joy joy joy!" Watch some japanese episodes. Trust me, it is a completly different show. HOW THE HELL DID YOU NOT NOTICE TREIZE SAMA'S ROSE!? |

Hopefully it is a much different show cause watching the English version reminds me of sitting next to some cheerleaders only they have special powers.
But even if it is much different I still don't like the idea of the series. But looks like I am going to have to download some episodes. Thanks to my high-speed connection I'll be able to do it in a day, hopefully. You forgot lightning count in there

Sorry for the random bumpage, but I had to get my piece in!
I agree 120% with sstrunks... Roses are not cool in any way, and Tuxedo Mask will meet me in Hell for punishment. (Yes in Hell, the lame anime characters are brought into reality and punished by the likes of me). What else can I not stand? Male characters that have the chicks all over them, but act all cool about it. (Like Sasuke-kun from Naruto) "Oh (insert-random-name-here)! You are so hot!" - Some really cute chick, "Leave me alone, you filthy swine!" - (random-name-from-before) Main characters that suck 90% of the anime until the last two episodes or something. That really bakes my noodle. How can someone be the main character if they never win? And whenever they do win, (usually by way of the most cheapest tactic in the world) they don't get acknowledged for it. This happens also in Naruto, when Spoiler: show Another thing I hate... I'm not a homophobe or anything but I don't like "questionably gay male characters". It's not because I don't like homosexuals, it's just that I don't like being confused about it. Like Subaru from X... Is he a fruit or isn't he? He lays down in a bed with a dude, without freaking out, he lights a cigarette for another dude while he's up close and personal, but he still gives off waves that he's straight, or at least, on a thin line.
