Our old one broke one this week. So I finally need to upgrade to a flatpanel now. I'm still undecicive between a LCD and a Plasma. Both have pros and cons. Off course they both look good in combination with blu-ray and 1080p ps3 action, but anyone have any experience with ps2 or Wii on anyone on of them? I most certainly want a fullHD and 24p capable tv, not really sure about the need for 100HZ technology.
Anybody experienced or any knowledge on the subject?

I've used the PS2 on a LCD. I don't know much about the technical stuff, i know it's a Full HD, it's from LG and it's huge, and i freaking love it because imo it's just so much better compared to my old tv (that i keep praying to break down ). I'm used to playing on a big tv, so the image to start off wasn't too bad, but when playing on a LCD, it's completely different, the image is like 100 times clearer, makes the gaming experience alot more fun.

I use a 32" Samsung LCD, 1080i. I had my Wii and PS2 on it for a while, but you will only ever get 480p out of either of those, and most PS2 titles don't support that anyway. The Wii will look great (using component cables), but of course switching between PS3 and Wii the Wii will look "blury" in comparison.

In my experience, playing PS2 games on the PS3 look better than just playing them on the PS2 with component cables. This is probably due to the fact that the PS3 upscales and smooths the PS2 game image, and if the game actually supports 480p originally you're laughing.

As for LCD or Plasma, I'm not really sure. I've personally seen no reason to own a Plasma over an LCD and (rumor has it) Plasmas can get screen-burn in, which is more common when playing games. So depending on what you plan on using it for the most would be the big decision swayer (games or movies/tv).

Thanx for the input. I settled for an ass-whooping 42" Panasonic fullHD plasma with 100HZ double scan capability, 24P and an incredible dynamic contrast of 100.000-1 and screencontrast of 30.000 - 1.
It has a reactiontime of 0,00001ms.
I chose a plasma cause it blew all the LCD's(Bravias, Toshibas, Samsung etc.) that they had out of the water when you look at the colour and quality of fast moving onscreenaction. The plasma with 100HZ is really something amazing. Besides that I don't like the bright colourschemes on LCD's but that's just a matter of taste, cause a lot of people like that the best about LCD. Anyways I'm one happy man right now!
Haven't played any games on it yet, cause I'm too busy watching Roland Garros on it. Hopefully newt week I will get my digital TV thing going from the cabelcompany and I'm getting the extra HD-channels with it...bring it on!

Although its still in the technical stage, a new format being developed by a japanese company called Ultra High Definition tv is eventually going to make its way into the market. While High Definition will become the new format here in the U.S. on February 17th of next year im anticipating this new format to eventually take the market because its so much more powerful than the currently available HD formats. It will be some time off, but look for more news of it as time goes by. Ive owned my 35 inch JVC tv since 1996 and loved it to death. That being said, having seen the new technology available, it truely boggles the mind with the advances. It will be some time before i buy a new tv, but am sure the owners of HD setups with HD satellite (in particular) must really be loving this new viewing capability..........
