It's horrible and upsetting. I swore lots and slammed lots of doors before just bursting into tears. I love London, it's a place I am in often and know it well. My father is working in central London nad I can't get hold of him, so I'ma little worried, but I don't think he's hurt. Blind optimism to carry me through. This is a dark dark day.

I heard about this today early in the morning as I was heading for school. At that time I only heard bits of random information coming from the TV as I kept waltzing in and out of the room in search of books. I read about the attack more in depth at the school library after class, and I must say I am perplexed.
I can't believe this still hasn't stopped. The aftermath as consequence of poor dicision making is taking a severe toll on those whom are truly innocent. It's completely unnacceptable. However, as cruel as it may sound, I don't think this attack was really surprising. It just seems like it was just bound to happen. If the reasons this sinister al Qaeda organization gave were true, then no nation that was or is a participant in the war in Iraq is safe. I can't help but think that all this atrophy could have been forestalled from the very beginning, but noo... I was reading the article in the link dan gave and I was looking at the times of the attacks. It looks like they were dispersed throughout the lengthy time span of about one hour. I can't imagine how awful the dread of suspence must have been. But also, I wonder why the time of these attacks are so eerily similar to the attacks of 911. The coincidence is scary. Ahh, but all in all, I do hope everyone living in London manage to somehow be safe. As for our forum members, well, I hope everyone in or near that area is well! And I also hope that you hear from your dad soon, Faily. I'm sure he's fine. My condolences to the UK. These attacks are simply appalling. Last edited by happy_doughnut; Jul 7th, 2005 at 03:58 PM.. |

My father (strangely enough) left last night. This is pretty good as his office was right next to one of the places that was hit and he may well have been on the underground at the time. Strangely enough the reason he left suddenly last night was because his (more recent) marriage is failing (I hated his new wife, so that's almost good news. He's a pretty upset by it though, understandably). But he's safe, if heartbroken at 48, which makes me sad, but put in perspective, he's safe and well and some families will not get the same news today. My thoughts and sorrows with them. It's shocking to see a city I'm in a lot attacked, but it's really hard to know how to react. With a faceless enemy, who can you blame?
A sad, black day for us over here, of all faiths, genders, races and ages.

Sad news, my thoughts are with those who lost someone.
I just hope everybody gets the hell out of Irak, before anymore attacks.

This is truly saddening. London is a beautiful city full of beautiful people. Anytime an act of terrorism takes the lives of and injures the beautiful living human beings of any place, who's sole interest is to live in as much peace for as long as possible, it is heartbreaking and maddening. We know that no place in the world is safe, but these sudden and harsh reminders hit with no less shock each time. My heart and spirit go out through prayer to those most affected by yestardays attacks and I pray for the safety of all of those members of this ps2f community who may have been affected. PEACE to all.

Ya, this is horrible. I heard a little bit about it at camp, but not too much. When will this madness end.

I was shocked when i heard about it on the radio at work, my bruv lives in London but he is ok, i hope eveyones friends/family are fine.
I dont know what drives someone to do something like this but we need to find them and punish them accordingly. Read a great quote yesterday: "Today we are all Londoners"

Just wanted to post that I am fine.
I couldn't believe it..watching it unfold on the news.. it was shocking..was a few worried moments when I couldn't contact a few ppl I knew were in london but they were ok. The mobile networks crashed because of so many people trying to contact people. 2 people I know were supposed to be on the tube & one of the buses that were hit but weren't for one reason or another which I am so thankful for. One of the saddest stories I heard was of a man who phoned his wife after the tube bomb and told her there was trouble on the tube so to avoid it and she told him she was just about to get on a bus..and she got on one of the buses that was hit. last I heard she was missing...and I haven't heard anything more so I guess she never made it

Sorry for the K, that's the dutch-spelling. Fact of the matter is that most potential terrorists in western countries are guys that lived here all their live and are not trained in some afghan terrorist camp but are very viable for anti-western propaganda because of the war. It says in the Koran(I've heard this from muslim-friends) eye for an eye etc. for them this means if you kill 200.000 muslims it's for them allright to kill 200.000 non-believers.
A lot of the guys are mad at our government for supporting Bush in a war that's not correct in their eyes, that were the same guys who thought 9/11 was wrong too! More and more of them are getting extremer in their thoughts because they have the feeling the western world is starting a war with the whole muslim world, with that nutcase Bush talking about attacking Iran, Syrie etc. if he has too. Off course 9/11 happened before the war and there was always going too be the thread of terrorist attacks but with this war we are driving a lot of moderate muslims into the hands of extremists. All of this is my opinion of course.

Ah, I'm sorry I corrected your spelling, I didn't realise you were Dutch!
Islam itself is a hot topic, I don't know enough to comment on the contents of any holy book, but I will say that I know a few Muslims and none of them agree with any sort of bombing campaign.

There have been 3 explosions on trains and 1 on a bus again here in London.
News Report although to me it seems to have been some kind of copycat attempt that went wrong.. only 1 person was injured. 1 man has been arrested.
