Saddam is in our custody!
well as of this mourning, 4ID (4th infantry division) entered tikrit, and captured saddam. the reason i am happy about this is because there perhaps will be a less urgency for troops over there and maybe i wont have to go, who knows, but we got him

Its about time they got him. Now Bush can get back to what he should have been going after sence 9-11. That is ofcourse the real threat Osama Bin Ladin*. And im glad as wel that you wont have to go 007. It seems like the troops out there are dodging suicide bombers left and right. I wonder what we will do with Saddam now that we have him ?

I imagine he would be put on trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

I heard he could face the death penalty, Personally I wouldnt want this, not coz im against the death penalty but because I feel this is the easy way out for him, he should be made to live his life being tortured and living with the pain. Although he'd probably kill himself coz he's such a pathetic person, if I knew he was gonna kill himself then I wouldnt give him the chance.
I can't wait for the day Osama is brought in, I hope that day comes!! Piggle x x x x

What kind of justice can be served for the millions of people's lives he has made a living hell? I agree with Piggle, death would be too easy of a way out for him. I believe he needs to suffer a punishment equal to the hardships that he put on the people he ruled over. Since it took this long to find Saddam, after the Gulf War, does this mean it will take the same amount of time to find Osama. It was interesting to hear that Saddam has been living like a rat when he used to live in a palace..........no sympathy here.

Well it looks like the U.S will most likely turn him over to The Iraqi's. Wich is a good thing. In the States our soft punishments would land him in the gas chamber . You KNOW that the Iraqis will make him suffer.
And whats with this pathetic little man. All that talk about never being taken alive by the americans. They found him cowering in a hole. He had a pistol and didnt even use it. They said he was rather disoriented, and he certainly looked it in the footage , but still..has the man no dignity ? .

i think me and 007 can have the greatest perspective about this bastard, cuz i personally had a bit of doubt about how we were dealing with things over there until this happened. it is a real morale booster to us troops, and it makes it so that we don't have as many worries. this will make it so that the fanatic groups over there that had the beliefs that their leader was going to come back and lead them to victory lose a lot of their driving force. hopefully, this will cause those of them who were in hiding to either give the fight up, or try and get their "last minute revenge" in so that we will not have any more of these bastards over there taking out our troops.

Thread went a bit off road here. While Saddam might have used torture and other horrible means against his enemies and people who were even a slight obstacle to his power, any person living in a civilized country should consider torture as a cruelty.
Since this is a moderated forum, and since I'm responsible for the quality of the discussions in here, I can't accept certain kinds of replies. Thread is closed. For (almost) unmoderated forums to express this kind of opinions, let me suggest you yahoo.com news pages. Also, let me suggest Geneva Conventions. Speaking to 007, I really hope you don't have to go!!! Thanks. |
