Naruto Schedule

2 hours of Naruto even though it's just the same two episodes?

Here's how many times they'll show Naruto until the next week's episode:

September 10 9:00pm [Enter: Naruto Uzumaki]

September 10 9:30pm [My Name is Konohamaru]

September 10 10:00pm [Enter: Naruto Uzumaki]

September 10 10:30pm [My Name is Konohamaru]

September 11 10:00pm [Enter: Naruto Uzumaki]

September 11 10:30pm [My Name is Konohamaru]

September 17 12:00am [Enter: Naruto Uzumaki]

September 17 12:30pm [Enter: Naruto Uzumaki]

September 17 7:30pm [Enter: Naruto Uzumaki]

September 17 8:00pm [My Name is Konohamaru]

September 17 9:00pm [Sasuke and Sakura: Friends or Foes?]

September 18 12:00pm [Enter: Naruto Uzumaki]

September 18 12:30pm [My Name is Konohamaru]

September 18 10:00pm [Sasuke and Sakura: Friends or Foes?]
------------------------------------

cartoon network looks like its forcing it.......their trying to make it a sensation instead of letting it do it itself. Its a good anime but I'll tell ya....the later eps get boring when it diverges from the manga. If they keep looping the same 17 eps for 12 months like they usually do, some people might lose interest. I would. I got sick of seeing 1/3 of the Kid Buu series on CN and went out and bought the complete version on dvd before it even hit the air.
hmmm and i looks like they already made changes. The characters names have been switched....Uzumaki Naruto is his name, the setup being the name that starts the title is the name of the clan and then the individuals name. I loved this thought of the series.....switch of Clan name/first name seems little, but Uzumaki Naruto sounds better lol

In Japan they say the last name before the first. Hence, Uzumaki Naruto. They say it as Naruto Uzumaki to make it consistent with our language and culture.

I swear if it wasn't for the title I would've thoguht Uzumaki was his 1st name. It sounds better that way... "shrugs" Naruto Uzumaki... Don't sound right.... I guess I gotta hear how it's pronounced.

dont get me wrong, I know it was done to fit our language

but it was always something I enjoyed about Naruto. The name of the clan came first so

when it was introduced as....Uchiha Sasuke

you can see a characters face get nervous at the name Uchiha...but now he;ll be called Sasuke Uchiha? Neji Hyuuga? Shikamaru Nara?

I'm too used to things lol

it was a big point for me how important family was in the anime, kind of feels like they short hand it by switching the name..thats all

I'm sure even in the US dub they'll still refer to the characters by surname because it's all a part of that "respect" thing. Even though the names will be switched, like Sasuke Uchiha, the other characters might still call him "Uchiha" because of the fact the last name implies fear and it's a big thing...also since in the US, we call our friends by last name, like "Robert Miller" would be like "Yo, Miller!" and so on.

Family was always a huge thing for Asians, so it's not just because of the whole clan thing in Naruto when the idea of "family" became so important. The last name can show how much power a family has or which family you come from and so on and so forth. I think the idea is very much the same with other countries as well.

I don't doubt the show will be popular or even more popular than DBZ...no offense to the fans of Naruto but I think it's because the show is too much like the DBZ series which is why I've never could warm up to it. I know a lot of people consider Bleach the same and believe you me, I see the resemblences as well...boom, in the next episode, Kurosaki gets an upgrade and fights with his new power, rinse and repeat...how stupid is that? But anyway, yeah...it'll definitely do very well here....butchered or not.

Hold on. So for each Saturday. Will the 9:00 episode be the repeat of the previous week?

And for the 2nd week are they doing it like....

Naruto - 8:00
Something - 8:30
Naruto - 9:00

Or just straight Naruto's?

P.S.... Meh, if you ask me, they can take 1 off and put Yu Yu Hakusho back on..

its like saturday 17th
7:30 naruto
8 naurto
8:30 something
9 naruto

not sure if this is what they'll continue doing but its obvious why they would in the beggining

because if anyone missed it, they'll catch it someday

its called MTV syndrome lol

and yeah, i understand what you're sayin Meryl. Though if people say Bleach and DBZ are alike, I might disagree. Not because they would be wrong...but jus because Bleach is my favorite anime playing right now. Above all, Bleach has been a consistent great anime whereas DBZ and Naruto shove fillers in that put me to sleep. Bleach fillers actually add to the story. Well for now, its only 48 eps in but its been a great ride so far

CN has a commercial running for naruto and its funny because of the way it pronounced. I'm used to saying it the way the anime does, or even with a slight spanish fril in the middle
the announcer says "NA ROO TOE" and I looked away from the TV not even realizing it was the commercial iv been meaning on seeing. It looks great on the TV though, im used to seeing it on my pc screen but my living room tv makes the colors and animation looked fluid. Some of teh fights must look godly on TV quality. My naruto dvd didnt even give that type of movement. A definite plus

There is a preview clip from the first episode on Toonami.com where you can hear Naruto, Mizuki, and Iruka's voices. It's pretty average, standard American-dub quality stuff. The only thing that really bothers me is that the actors try waaay too hard to pronounce Naruto, and it sounds very unnatural with the rest of the dialogue.

Don't get it.... Isn't that how it's suppose to be pronounced, or they just sound funny saying it?

"Sighs" 1st impression. Naruto is annoying already. It's only been 5 minutes into the show, and his voice is making me cringe. I don't even think that VA even fits him. They should've went with the VA who played Yahiko from Kenshin. >_>

Edit: I can probably put up with it, but it may take a while...

I'm assuming that's when the chuunin exams starts? I'll skip the next episode and wait for the one when Kakashi 1st appears. If I don't like it then, I'll wait for Zabuza. (If there's no improvement after that, I'll just continue downloading the manga)

It actually sounds more like "NAR-OO-TOE" rather than what you wrote "NA ROO TOE" which is more like the way the Japanese would say it.

The US makes the "NAH" in Naruto sound more like "NAR" and the "ROO" sound more like "OOH." The proper way to say the Japanese way is "Nah-roo-toe" or "Nah-loo-toe" because the "R" in Japanese sounds more like an "L."

From the sound of it, the US dub is also a woman for Naruto's voice. And I agree with Scorp...the voice for Yahiko (even though it was a woman too) would've fit better. It's hard to find males to play young boy's or feminine male voices...because they have to be light sounding and delicate or youthful...and most men who've hit puberty would find it hard to do that type of voice...so I wouldn't be so hard on the fact that most male character's voice overs are female.

ah yes, thats what i meant

i couldnt get the L soundin portion, thats why I said the frill in the middle...well it sounded like a frill but yeah and L sound

anyhoo

just found out that Crispin Freeman did the voice for Ebisu from the second episode. This guy makes a living off of voice over work, and is the voice of a certain badass duel weilding vampire, and they give him a character who only shows up twice in the anime? (three times if you count the next episode where he lays unconcious for some time and then says 5 lines) They gave Gaara to the guy who does Setto Kaiba on Yugi-Oh didnt they? I wouldve switched those paychecks around

"Is watching Naruto again..... 2nd episode.
I just realized (gosh, spell this word correctly >_>) that they have Crispin Freeman (VA for Alucard) playing the voice of Ebisu....

I really can't see him fitting this type of role especially after watching Hellsing so many times. I guess it's because I'm not use to him playing a comedic role. "Tries picturing him voice acting as Orochimaru"..... That might work. (Or Ibiki....)
