Japanese Cinema
Considering here we have J-rock fans, anime fans, videogames fans, I was wondering if someone is also interested or knows a little about Japanese movies...
Not talking about anime this time, but real movies, with actors and so on! |

You mean like Jackie Chan?? I've seen him in some movies and daily in the Jackie Chan Adventures. Does that count?

Hmm....I honestly haven't been able to watch Japanese movies, because most of the ones that looks interesting to me are pure Japanese, with no subtitles. The only ones I've seen are the independant films, like Adrenaline Drive, Sleepy Heads, Shall We Dance?, and the middle of Kikujiro. But, that's about it. I haven't seen any black and white samurai films, so I can't really say much. But, I do hope to watch more Japanese films that are released now, sometime in the future.

I love Kikujiro no Natsu! As I love nearly all Kitano's movies! They're very recent, so I don't think you should have troubles getting them, also for rent

I really like Japanese samurai flicks, especially movies by Kurosawa Akira (Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Ran, Rashomon, etc.).
My exposure to Japanese cinema has been limited pretty much to samurai or fedual Japanese period pieces, so I can't really say much about what I think of contemporary Japanese film. |

I've seen many japanese movies. I don't remember what any of them were called, nor do I care, because they were all crap! The quality of their movies are just as bad as they were 30 years ago.
Anyone see godzilla 2000? It was'nt any better than the rest. But I have to admit, that the first godzilla movies were well done for their time. But they had no comparisin to starwars with mark hamil and harrison ford.
