Anyone else got it? im on about on XBL but PC is all the same, its some addictive stuff, the graphics look cheap but you get used to them after a while, the gameplay is just amazing, errr dont buy it if your not online. What a sweet game!

haven't played in a while (about a year?) ... it was addictive to an extent, but it got old fairly quick (once you've played each map - and to it's credit, there are a lot - you're not shown anything new). It didn't feel half as skillful as most FPS' i've played, because it just isn't fast enough. Call me "old-skool", but there was a time when crouching in a corner with a sniper-rifle got you called "camper", or another word begining with "C". Also, the community was a bit iffy... too many people gives a multiplayer community an unpersonal feel. that and the majority of CS players are cheating, unsociable lowlifes.

That said, CS is a brilliant LAN game. But then, you can throw stuff at anyone who's a total ass, and you can hug those who aren't (never tried it. not sure if LAN parties have the kind of people who enjoy hugging...). I'll give it a whirl again when I upgrade to broadband (probably in January), because the steam network is "dial-up racist" at about a 400mb download a pop.

I own at both, but overall I perfer the PC version, mainly due to the better draw rate at long distances. On the xbox version everything gets so clouded you cannot see if your enemy is coming, on the PC you don't have this problem. Both versions are still incredibly fun though. I also have to disagree with the unpersonal feel. Plus even with cheaters the problem isn't as bad as it was on 1.5.

I plan on getting this for xbox for X-mas (never played the pc version im sure this PC could handle it,its just this pc is clouded up with alot of crap in the first place and besides its not mine) i'm hoping to have some fun with this game instead of meeting some complete idiots who just bash on noobs the whole time
plan on getting a new thing of xbox live (since my last xbox broke) and going online and getting my ass kicked

I have been playing counterstrike for a long time now, about 3 years im thinking. I love the game to dealth and to this day its one of the only games I play.

I am apart of a great clan that doesnt play in tournaments or in a league. We just play the game cause its fun and to have a good time. We have our own server called CS without the BS. Strick rules of conduct meaning no exsesive swearing and not allowing rude comments to other people. We have a good solid website too. Counterstrike to me is a great game that allows for the making of friendships. There are alot of cheaters out there even with 1.6, i would even say more. I am an admin at our server and am banning about 5 people a day. Some are better players then me, but its pretty obvious if you just watch them.

yeah but at least this game is free, or was free. I mean if you buy the original half life you can download it for free.

So you still get the non online aspect of the game too.

What server do you play at, ill come play sometime.
