MORE Computer Troubles
Not to bother you all with MY problems but I am in need of some advice. My bran new computer is ALLREADY acting up. At times its just as bad or worse than my last one. I run I mesh (Program like Kazaa) and windows media player alot and it seems like my computer experiences an error every other time I start them (Well not quite THAT frequently but its BAD). Also when I Alt Ctrl Delete during these errors to close the programs it often doesent work (The end task window never opens) and then when it does it opens like 10 windows all saying that the program is simply "running" and now "Not Responding". I dont know if Spyware is to blame or if the programs are faulty Or maybe its just widnows XP. I really dont want to have to return this computer but im not paying 2,000 for a computer thats going to run like s*it .
Does anyone with some sort of computer knowledge have any suggestions. Id really REALLy appreciate it. Thanks

do you have spybot?, if not try to find it. It's free, and it'll eliminate that problem if that's what it is.

It may be a memory problem... running too many things at once kinda thing. If your playing video in wmp, it might be that, something corrupt in the video may be doing it.
Or maybe you need to run maintinace? Possibly a virus even, those little buggers do all sorts of neat things. They'll mess with your regestry so your computer will do things and lock things out it shouldnt. In that case, you would need a fully up-to-date anti-virus, or learn how to do manual removal.

Sorry if you've done this already, but just in case you haven't, go to Windows Update (should be on your Start Menu somewhere) and make sure XP is up to date. More specifically make sure you get Service Pack 1.
The initial non-updated release of XP is quite flawed, I too experienced a tonne of problems. Now I use Windows Update once a week to make sure XP is as up to date as possible. That may solve a lot of your problems. - S

Also, I refer you to Spank's advice about firewalls and stuff, if you've not already gone down that path. Consider it "tried and tested" as my PC is probably on it's longest period without "needing" to be formatted for quite some time (... thats usually about 3 months though) : https://forums.ps2fantasy.com/showthr...&threadid=6897
