Computer question
My friend is thinking about buying a labtop computer within the next couple of weeks. He says the three names he thinking of going with are HP, Dell, and Compact. He asked my opinion on what to get, but I haven't been following what/who's hot or not in the computer field for awhile now. Can somebody tell me what they recommend. Aslo he wants to know how fast, how much ram, etc he should be getting. He says he's using it for music games and maybe surfing the net (i think) Just wanted to know any of your opinions especially if your up to date on computers. Thanks in advance!

I dont know much about laptops, but its a tough choice, but if i were him i would choose a alienware
compaqs are horribly unstable (i have one.....) dells might b ok, i think u can ax them 2 customize 1 4 u the HP is a PC mostly used 2 office work (i dont know anything bout HPs ) but if i was 2 choose from those 3 i would choose da dell (only if they can costumize a good one) otherwise i'd go 4 da HP |

It can do other stuff better than most, but that's just what the site says. I'm not saying you shoud try to get him to buy it, whatever he chooses should be fine.

I would recommend Dell, I have one myself, very releible and decent, but If you want the fastest on the market go for Alienware, there specs are kik ass. Just go on the websites, and design your own specs, you can on Dell, not sure about Alienware.

Compaqs are total pieces of crap...ok not that bad but I hate mine and my moms and my friends and my sisters. They might look nicely priced...but those are some crappy nicely priced computers.
Dells are cheap... as in cost. It has some of the same problems as compaqs but not as many and they are usually much better deals (Free CD player etc.) But the main problem is that if you have to get it repaired you might not see it for a while. I suggest a Dell over a Compaq any day. I think the only thing Dells are not great in is playing games. I don't know about HPs or Alienware. My suggestion to him is to get a Sony VAIO. They are rather expensive compared to the other companies but it is well worth it. They are nice looking and perform way better then compaqs. If he wants to just listen to music and surf the internet then go with the Dell. But if he wants to play games as well then go with VAIO. Depends on what is important to him.
