Talking Re-visiting the past

I went up to my attic today when I got home from work to see if I could find an old record for my Mum and I came across a big unlabelled white box. I opened it and I was reuntied with all my old consoles with all my games. So i took em down (they weren't dusty! cos they were in a tightly sealed box) spruced em up and connected my SNES to the kitchen telly and my Genesis to my conservatory telly woth my PS2 (i moved that from my bedcroom today cos it was sunny) so now im reunited and im all happy. So now wherever I go in my house i got a console to play with but i wish i hadnt got rid of my Game Boy and my Atari 2600...

Anyways which do u think was the best in its prime...

I voted for SEGA Mega Drive/ Genesis. I loved my Mega Drive 2. It was pure fun. Especially with MK2 and MK3!

I am still looking for Sega DreamCast!.!

The Super Nintendo.

It's always fun to remember when I stayed up all night playing Super Mario RPG just to get to level 30. :O

Or playing one of my best games Chrono Trigger
Or playing my favorite FF which is FF6.

harder... at the time, I was very pro SEGA, but then I never had a SNES or NES, whereas I had a Master System and Mega Drive...

Now i'd say that the SNES was the best of the old consoles... my old preference was based on my insistence that Sonic the Hedgehog was the best thing on the planet... I was right, but he certainly wasn't better than Mario, Yoshi and Donkey Kong put together... and then if I wasn't European, we would of actually had FF4 and FF6...

uh... so the short version is : SNES

Talking M E G A D R I V E vs S N E S

OK then I thought I would give you my thourough view on both of the two old consoles that you have said that you liked just to get my arguments acroos.

1 - The MEGADRIVE: I absolutley loved this console when I first got it and mainly because of that spiky little blue number, Sonic Da Hedgehog. I bought all of the games I could buy (seen below)...

1: Sonic The Hedgehog
2: Sonic The Hedgehog 2
3: Sonic The Hedgehog 3
4: Sonic & Knuckles (The Enchida)
5: Sonic Spinball
6: Sonic 3D

Now which of these turned out to be my favourite Sonic game - ALL OF THEM!!! Because I absolutley loved Sonic and I still do already buying Sonic Advance (Sonic Advance contains the new charachter Amy The Hedgehog who was an average hit with people but she couldn't really hammer her way up to Sonic's level) and Sonic Advance 2 (Sonic Advacne 2 contains that hopping bunny Cream the Rabbit) both for GBA. In these two episodes in case you dont know the hedgehog and chums must face upto a new evil, DR. EGGMAN!! But really I like the way you could link up Sonic & Knuckles to Sonic The Hedgehog 2/3 to play as Knuckles. It was even good if you connected a non-compatible cartridge as you got a dancing set of Charachters singing to what was later a hit for Vanilla : "No Way, No Way". I liked Sonic Spinball as well, because, who wouldnt like playing Sonic in an evil pinball machine to stop Robotnik. I also had a great selection of games for it which I still enjoy playing, as seen below...

Top 3 Games For Megadrive By ToxicUK

1 - Any Sonic Game
2 - Fifa Football Series
3 - Spiderman Series

Moving onto the SNES I have to say firstly as most of you say it was a fantastic contender with the Megadrive with "Mario and Luigi" but I still dont like it as much. Yes it was playable again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again but it just never really got me as excited as when you finish Sonic. Anyways my top 3 games for SNES are:

1 - Super Mario Series
2 - Sonic Blast 1/2 (I was so happy over this)
3 - Cyberspin (Brilliant)

she was in Sonic CD by the way... see if you can find a copy of that, or a Mega CD emulator and an ISO of the game (.. or the PC Version)

another little known fact: "Dr Eggman", is "Dr Robotnik" - Eggman is simply what they've always called Robotnik in Japan (plus Eggman was in Sonic Chaos on the Master System.. or at least a preview I read about that...)

if you didn't know, press A+B+C - with Sonic 1 there are many, many levels (this "game" were called "Blue Spheres" in the GC Sonic Mega Collection)

Never heard of these, but if they're sonic games, perhaps they belong with the Pirates over at https://www.sonic-cult.org/index2.php ... oh and if you haven't already, find an emulator and the Sonic 2 Beta ROM

This was a Arti-Political Broadcast from the Nerdy and frankly sad party.

the SNES for me,the controller was easy to use,and the games looked and sounded better on the snes rather than the Sega megadrive/Genesis.Examples are Mortal kombat 3,doom,and wny wwf game.
