I have seen it and enjoyed it, but this anime is still only "okay" in my book.
Since it's been a long time since I saw this last, my review of it might be lacking in a few areas, so please forgive me. Anyway, "Variable Geo" has some decent character designs and animation. The fight scenes are fast paced and well-drawn. The story, however, is a bit silly and it leaves off at a cliffhanger. Basically, the plot is about waitresses who compete in the "Variable Geo Martial Arts Tournament" and the winner gets, I think, $10 million dollars and real estate and the loser....well...she takes off her clothes. Of course, there isn't that much nudity as it seems. Anyway, the main character is Yuka, who should be the next champion of this tournament, but, her best friend, Satomi, needs the $10 million for her little brother's operation. The enemy here is the current champion (I forget her name) and she's associated with this one corporation who deals with illegal experiments. I don't remeber exactly, but I think the corporation is trying to create the "Perfect Fighter" and use her to wipe out the world. Well, Satomi somehow gets involved with the corporation (as one of the test subjects) and now, Yuka has to save her friend and destroy the corp. Pros: - Good fight scenes - Decent character designs - The dub is actually good (well...the last time I remember it ) - Interesting fight at the end Cons: - The plot is mediocre - Some of the characters are pretty annoying (for example, this one loud little girl...) - The physical attributes of the characters are kinda...exaggerated. This makes the movie appear as a fanservice title (which probably is) - Cliffhanger Hmm...that's about all I can think of. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, I'll try to answer them.

Looking at the art style, i thought this was all fanservice lik..lets say, Amazing Nurse Nanako?
Well, the unreal physics of bodies is found almost everywhere within anime so it cant be helped that much...though there are many anime out there that keep their cool. Anyway, the information was great, im a fan of fighting gmaes and fighting anime so i wanted to make sure i wouldnt be watching an ecchi more than a fighting anime. |
