*Official* Silent Hill Thread
This thread is used for anything reguarding Silent Hill. Since its gained much popularity over the years I'd figure why not a dedicated thread. Anyways could we possibly have a mod of this forum merge following threads?
Anyways to start of the discussion, which of the four releases have been your favorite. For me it still remains the first, followed closely by the third. Reason being is that it seemed to be the most developed and geniune game in the series. Pretty much timeless in the same respect that the original Metal Gear was. So yeah how bout the rest of you?? ~Will

The first silent hill will always be dear to me since it was one of the first games I played when I got my playstation. I can geniualy say it was the first game I was scared to play but i persevered and played through it. My second favorite would have to be Silent Hill 2. No game made me want to run like hell after seeing the red pyramid head guy, yes I mean you mark! lol j/k. Of course the graphics were much better, but overall the game was amazing. I havent finshed the 3rd installment of the series so I cant say whether it beats SH or SH 2. All I know is that SH is one series you must play.

I only played the second one, which is an awesome game. That story is so beautiful it sucked me right in. When I read a lot of the reviews for 3 and 4 I'm kinda scared to get dissapointed because of the emphasis on the action which IMO wasn't that important in 2. But I'm planning to get 3 for some time now so I'll find out for myself. But I think 2 will be hard to beat, cause it's the kind of game that's just right in every friggin' way.

Don't worry, 3 is nothing like 4. SH1-3 are all masterpieces. You will NOT be dissapointed with 3 in any way.
When it comes to 4... play it ONLY after you have seen all the endings in SH1, 2, and 3, beaten every RE game out there (including Dead Aim), played Fatal Frame 1-3, have taken a shot at Alone in the Dark, tried and failed an attempted suicide, and have absolutely nothing else to do. OK... I am only half kidding, but SH4 is just plain NOT scary... now that's just unforgiveable in the SH series. It has it's moments, I suppose. _RED_ stuff

Thanx for the info Red! I'll have to check SH3 out then, I saw it just the other day for around 15 dollars so I'll be able to pick it up cheap.

i started up SH2(greatest hits) yesterday and got to the hospital. I forgot how atmospheric the game is, which is really important since there's not a whole lot of music to set the mood. When the music does kick in though it is excellent.
..finally purchased SH4 not too long ago, and am going to play thru it right after i finish up with 3.

I 'm currently playing thru Silent Hill 3..and have been using different tactics this time around, like using the beef jerky more, and sneaking past enemies instead of forcing encounters like i did before.
They give you so much ammo in part 2, it's all over the place. even with the multipliers for ammo turned off I had more than enough.
