Azzuro Prosecco, great light italian wine. Bit bubbly, but goes down well with some home made pasta or pizza.

Old Butthole surfers records... who was in my room last night....who the hell was in my bed! Great songs, great production!

I would like to recommend the serie "La piovra" or the Octopus to anyone who likes gangster/maffia movies. I just bought the complete collection of 25 dvd's and watched the first two episodes and I'm loving it!

What do you think of it Pu? Is it really that great or does it lose quality down the road?

The first series are probably the best. It becomes a little less interesting in the last series. But if you like the genre very much, it could be it manages toy keep your interest. I was never a big fan of it, so maybe I just got bored. Also, I don't like very much the acting of many members of the cast. But there are some actors that are considered very good here. It's just not my type of acting, I guess.

Good luck with it

Thanx! I'm loving it so far, I got it because an italian collegae recommended it to me. I'm really loving it so far, especially the acting!
Corrado Cattani is extermely cool and Titti also manages to play a convincing drugaddict, so far it's really my cup 'o tea!

I'm glad you're liking it. It's bad when you purchase something hoping you will enjoy it and then you don't. So, I hope you'll keep on enjoying it till the end

I want to recommend a book, Salinger's Franny and Zooey. Still figuring out some lines in it, since despite its simple languange it's a very complex book. It points out some very interesting questions about spirituality and religion.

Just saw this film on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) last night and would highly recommend it: "Portrait of Jennie" starring Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotten. It's about a struggling artist who paints a girl from another era. I don't want to spoil it (even a summary would spoil it), so I'll leave it at that. It has a bit of haunting elements, mystery and intrigue. The use of canvas filters on the cameras was an excellent touch. Great film that you can't help but continue watching till the very end.

I know this is a recommendation thread but I also hope we can ask for recommendations as well. If so, I'd like to ask coffee addicts to recommend a very nice quality coffee grinder. Strange request, I know, but I'm starting holiday gift shopping and would like to find one for my sister. If anyone has anything, please PM me. Thanks!

Michael Clayton (2007) - Movie with George clooney, excellent thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole run. Intelligent story and great acting, highly recommended!

I remember seeing Michale Clayton last year, around this time of the year. No, it was November. Well, the movie was ok, but I remember having a terrible headache at the time, so I fell asleep when things started being interesting and woke up during the last three minutes

Maybe I shall watch it again one of these days.

Too bad, I can really recommend to give it another shot. If you get another headache...it's probably the movie.
I've had a similar thing with a movie once, this obscure Bruceploitation flick...that everytime I was watching it I fell a sleep. Didn't matter if it was in the morning, afternoon or evening... as soon as the movie was at around 20 minutes I was getting terribly tired... Never got around to watching the whole flick.

I don't think it was the movie
I had other movies that make me fall asleep whenever I see them, but that wasn't the case. I wanted to follow the movie, but couldn't keep my eyes open because it was a pain. I had the headache before watching the movie. When it happens, I know it's better not to sit for two hours in a dark place, especially when you're paying for it

You knew this was coming from me... I would like to recommend the new SH game Silent Hill: Homecoming. I will of course talk about it in the proper forum so meet me in the Action Games section!

I would like to recommend the infernal affairs trilogy for all of those who haven't seen it yet. This is the kind of movie that I like so much that I have this craving to watch it again from time to time and think during the course of re-watching "man, do I love this movie" it really is that great in my humble opinion.

On the unhealthy-side of things: Alonso Menendez longfiller cigars and Hennessy cognac.

Cigars! Some time ago I tried some cigars that were truly excellent: they were very "sweet" and they had this very rich chocolate aroma. I cannot remember the brand though, so I can't buy more Anybody has any idea of what I am talking about?

What was the size of the cigars? I used to smoke small aromatised cigarellos that were cognac dipped, they're called Al capone's sweets. They come in little plastic boxes (like a flat pack of cigarettes) by the ten.
If it were larger cigars (robusto or coronna models) it could be a cigar like the Alonso Menendez, which is a brasil cigar with a maduro (very dark) top leaf, this is a well known cigar for it's sweet and chocolate taste. Otherwise you can look for any other brasil tabacco with a dark maduro top leaf. Or just check with a cigarshop, they can give you good recommendations if you describe your taste (and budget).

The size was like those Al Capone you are talking about, but that's not them, I'm sure - I would have loved to try something with that name though! I'm also sure they were in a pack of five and the package was of a rather light colour, maybe grey.
