I would like to change my name ~Sophie~ but as it is the name my mum gave me and she is no longer around I wouldn't want to take that personal connection away so I would never change it, although I went through a phase when I was about 10 when I wanted to be called Mercedes
I am very glad I never had the power to change it back then

And I don't think I'd change my surname if I got married either.

I think about kids names alot and I always like to think I'd name my kid something unusual, but I'm not going to go down the apple or tinkabell route...
Just something pretty and less common.

Oh yes, I got the name now. Do you know my last name is abbreviation of the name of the same god? Yes. So we have something in common. And I don't think your name, I'm guessing you are talking about the Dutch version of it, is bad at all.

That's cool, having a last name that's coming from an ancient god! Around here people have mostly last names that came from where they were from or what there job was(thanks to Napoleon for that). On the other hand if it wasn't for the small frenchman we probably would still be naming each other son of ... son of... from the daughter of....

Some of the myths regarding the god you're talking about are very obscure and mysterious. He's one of the most complicated figures in Greek mythology. He's a very controversial deity, with strong influencial presence in modern culture as well.

I'm starting to read myself into it right now and he seemed to had some strange followers with bizar rites and methods. He seemed to represent more the illogical and free element in ancient greek society in contradiction to the philisophical and otherwise logical considered greeks. I also like the stories about the titans and centaurs, pretty interesting stuff. I already learned some stuff in college, but now that I've been to Olympia it has renewed my interest.
I would like to go to the Forum Romanum one day...

If you liked Greece, maybe you would like Rome as well. Rome has so much to offer if you're interested in ancient ruins and history. There are so many places to visit. It's not that great as a city, and compared to other European capitals is horrible, because the climate sucks, it's dirty, and people are less civilized

I will visit it for sure, is it best to stay slightly outside the city, is public transport do-able around Rome or is it neccesary when you don't have a car there that you stay in the innercity? Is it as expensive as people say, regarding food and drinks.

It is quite expensive anywhere, but there are some differences among zones, so it also depends on the zone you choose. Staying near the Vatican for example is almost impossible if you are not a billionaire, but other central zones aren't that expensive. Anyway, suburbs are awful and transports aren't like those you find in other major capitals, so I wouldn't recommend to anybody to look for accomodation there.

Funny how things change, I've grown to like my name quite a lot.

I actually found myself annoyed recently when I started a new job and someone there kept calling me Chloe instead of Sophie
