Transition.
As every school years begins to reach its end, I get really happy cuz it means no school for 3 months!! However, I dread the end of this year. I never thought I'd say this but I don't want it to end. You see, I attend a private school. I've gone to a private school for a very long time.
In this current school, they host grades 9th and 10th. Next year, I will be a Junior and will have to go to a public school!! I'm just so nervous...even scared. I'm not going to know anyone nor how anything works. I also hear that there are lots of students while at my school there are only like 350. I just don't think I can make it! What about my uniform!! I actually liked that ugly thing. *sniff sniff* I just don't know, I'm really confused...but should I look forward to it? |

I somewhat know how you feel. I went to a Catholic School for about seven years (even though I'm not religous). I basically grew up with the same 30 kids. Then, I went to high school. I was so paranoid. Now, I have gained many friends, including SSSnake, CC, and the rest of the us from RHS.
I think you should be looking forward to public school. You'll meet many new people and have a lot of fun. It's can be scary at first, but i think you'll adapt well.

Public school is not that bad, especially if you start out the year there, you get used to it

Don't fret, Public School is cool, wearing whatever you like and all. I've never attended a public school and nor do I want to... I've had too much fun in public schools.
I was afraid when I first went to highschool...but I love it...good times

Don't worry, Mena. I'm pretty sure you'll adapt to your public school in no time. You seem like a great person, so I'm pretty sure you'll find friends very quickly. Maybe it's just me, but I guess changing from a private school to a public school is almost like moving. I had to change schools, around 5 years ago, because I had to move. I was so nervous, because all of my old classmates were back in my old town and I basically grew up with them also. As for now, I'm not doing so well in this school even though I've been here for a couple of years already, but I'm sure your outcome will be different and better than mine. I know it's scary and hard to adjust, but we all have to go through and accept these little changes in life. I'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck.

dude... public school rocks... let alone public highschools. there are alot of people, which gives you so many people to meet and so much more to learn than growing up with a class of 30 or 40 kids with only one or 2 changes here or there. being able to express yourself in whatever manner you please (within reason) and the defenate plus is that since youve had private schooling your probably alot farther ahead than the norm of a public highschools... and this makes some people look up to you.
highschool is a blast,.. and im only a freshman. just go in and show people what they've been missing while you were at private school. best of luck. |

Don't worry mena, it won't be so bad. I remember feeling just like you do when I had to go from private school to public high school. I was worried, nervous all that stuff also. However, it turns out that I met my best freind within the first 4 months. We're still budies, and It's been 10 years now! So don't worry and remember, all the kids going to the H.S. aren't coming from the same school a lot of the time, so they'll feel just like you do. just be yourself and everything will fall into place.

Aw, thanks a lot you guys! Your comments made me feel a whole lot more secure. Although, I just found out that I'm the only one transfering to a public school!! All of my other friend (girl friends) are going to an all-girl school with a few exceptions here and there. I feel so cheap -_-. But oh well, I'll just have to get used to it now won't I? Again...**bows** "Arigato!"
