I am thinking that the Dove Chocolate company must've put something in their new ice-cream line. It's really damn good and addictive; you cannot stop eating once you start. I was eating the mint-flavored one and before I knew it, I had finished the entire pint in one sitting...normal ice-creams make you feel heavy, but not this...and I've tried nearly every flavor already, good grief. *sighs then sneaks away to eat another pint*

I'm thinking how shocked I am by the racist murders in Belgium, some familymember of a flemish right-wing party-member, went on the streets and shot a coloured woman with her 2 year old white child(both dead) and then went on to shoot a turkish-woman at a busstop(in a coma). At his home they found a letter stating that he was going to shoot as many coloured people as he could that day....
I mean you get used to disturbing news nowadays, but this really shocked me. What a sad sad news. I mean haven't we learned anything at all from WWll? I heard stories from my grandma, about how my granddad had to hide for the germans and even at her old age I felt the hate she carried against the nazi's and their ideals. Now here we are 60 years later and some people are still following the believes, ideals and even actions of those stupid f%@&^#. It makes me really sick!

That it terrible. It's really awful and dangerous to be a victim of such supreme racism. Your grandmother, even though she is at an old age, could never really forget or forgive such a traumatic experience, poor woman. Ignorance and stupidity causing all the unncessary hate that is racism will probably never go away...even with media, magazines, and films that reveal the ugliness inside of people, people would simply watch it and go "Oh my, that is terrible! How can anyone be that way?" and carry on their lives while inflicting the same racist behaviors! For example, these small-town ignoramuses who frequent the restaurant where my family and I work, came in and started talking about the film "Crash" with my sister. She later reveals to me how they just simply "couldn't understand how people could be so cruel." Ironically, later in the conversation they were talking about this Muslim restaurant owner on the other side of town, whom is actually very quiet and very nice, and say they are "suspicious" of him because of his demeanor and then the husband says: "I mean, who knows what kind of terrorist things he's planning!" WTF, right?!

I am thinking Meryl has hit the nail on the head. People tend to think they have done their days work simply by watching movies about racism and are so blind to their own prejudice ways that they continue to practice them as if they learned absolutely nothing!

Racism at its core is an ego problem just like everything else. Two of the main devices of the ego is to label and judge. These labels and judgements are based on our own limited perceptions from our own experiences and not as a people as a whole. These labels and judgements are also based on our own insecurities, which on a deep level we feel we must project on others to feel better about ourselves. Most of the time we are not even aware of this unless we really stop to think. We are all capable of racist thoughts, but it is our job as a society that must live together to EVOLVE beyond the negative controlling nature of such thoughts, and admit to ourselves that we are all in the same struggle to find ourselves in such an oppressive society, each in our own way.

It is simple. In order to succeed, we must live together. May cultures unite in harmony like the true meaning of HIP HOP!

Racism is a tool used by governments/elite to divide the poor or lower class in order to keep them to unite and be a threat to their wealth. Racism is created it's a not in the human nature.

I understand and do agree with what you said about governments using racism as a method to maintain their control and power, but I think you're giving human nature too much credit. I'd hate to turn this thread into something totally off topic, but I disagree with you here. The government is runned by humans. How do you think racism is created if it weren't created by humans first? Evil originates in human nature...it only takes a bit of prodding, such as desire which is also a part of human nature, to fully reveal it. Thus it's the human nature that creates the unneccessary discrimination and bigotry that is racism.

OK, maybe I should have stated it different, when it's created it's not in our nature IMO. It's not something that we feel the urge to do, something that comes from our inner-drive(don't know how to state it clearly in english).

It's alright, don't worry about it, sorry for going on about this. I just didn't know what you meant by how racism is created, but it's all really a matter of belief in the end, so there's no point in discussing this because we all have our own opinions. No worries.

Right now I'm thinking why my arm gets a jolt of pain whenever I move it. I can't even strech it out without it hurting and this happened barely an hour ago for no reason. I know it can't be broken, since I did nothing that would make that happen and I don't think it's dislocated, still it hurts. Wish it would stop.

Maybe try a little massage on your own to get the blood circulation going, take the pressure points in your wrist, elbow and shoulder and softly massage it. If it's a muscle thing this should give some relieve.
