I was just wondering but ho many of you actually read fanfic? Do you only read like one person?

Regarding the voting, I think it should be closed, and if Mourdor can't count votes, maybe we should choose someone else to take care of this. |

I do come off as jealous, I suppose. I just didn't think that a lot of people read it and I was just wondering. I really don't care if you think I am. Hey, it could be possible, but jealous that he got more votes, no way. You are entitled to your opinions.
Red and I are very different writers and I think I could learn a lot from him. The reason I decided to become absent is that no one was reading it...people I guess just got too busy. Without readers who's to say we exist? I'm glad people are now though, reading that is. Really it doesn't bother me that Red may be a better writer, I was honored that some people even thought of me. I don't post much and Red just has this amazing way to capture whatever it is he's hunting through his mind, plus he likes to share. I was always considered random and O well if I'm not liked. I just wanted to know.

Hey Pam, I think your poetry is every bit as good as mine, if not better. I also think the same of other people's writing, but yours especially. Some of your material simply amazes me and just so you know I was not writing things as mature as yours when I was your age. And, most importantly, remember that you no longer post as often as I do and I think that has a lot to do with who sticks in the minds of the other forum members who voted. And believe me, I wouldn't be so concieted as to think anybody would be jealous of me so I know ur certainly not of all people! You rule! Remember that friend. Ya know it homeslice. PEACE

Wow, such a debate over the fanfic forum ! I'm quite excited i get to write a reply. Almost.
Anyway, these things always go wrong and there i was thinking that we'd beaten the problems of jealousy and people feeling left out. Its quite simple really, if you want to be a writer then you're going to have to accept a lot worse criticism than a few people not nominating you in a small vote. Its not the be all and end all of things. I'm certain I've felt the way you do now in years past, under appreciated and the rest but now I look back and put it all together and its not actually the way it seemed at the time. I'm sorry you feel that way, but its nothing huge. If anything it should prove inspiring and push towards 'better' writing. I really don't think that there are any better writers as ultimately everything comes down to whether you or cannot. The rest is quite subjective.

Without a doubt, what somebody reads into something is subjective. So where one person can say what a wonderful work that is, another can say ummm, what is this peice of sh!t. Thats what i always find funny about movie critics. I read what our local critic in our home paper says about a movie, then usually i get the opposite impression after i go and see the movie... So subjectivity plays a strong role in any kind of reading and or writing, and more than anything its an expression of the way a person sees something, a viewpoint, that persons own viewpoint, on something...
