I honestly can't remember...ever sine Matillica's little anti downloading thing against napster I have done nothing but download. Sure it might be wrong, but now I just do it to spite the artists who already have millions and complain because some kid that has no money but loves a band only wants to here their music.

Sure people are just cheep too and download because they can. I am probably like that now...i have the money to buy music, i choose not to however do to a single insident with matillica.

Learn how to spell man. (Its Metallica) BTW don't make comments on the situation that happened there when you do not know the full story. I suggest you do some unbaised reading on the matter.

The true story is Metallica wanted more money and were worried that downloading would subtract from their total incomes for that year. What they should have done really is made a good album, then they would have made a lot more money. I don't buy the poor rockstar thing because it really isn't true.

and yes i did read into sir...considering I was sued by them...yes I WAS SUED by them...thankfully my cousin is a lawyer and shot that down rather quickly...i will asume you were only joking with your tone of voice however and forget you said it. Yes, they wanted more money...oh heres a quote i just found. "We don't feel that our songs should be given out free when this is our life and we expect to make money of the things we create. Do we come to your work place and steal your paperclips?"

So uhhh...what part of that am i mistaken on. Before you insult members of this forum, especially and admin, i think maybe you should get the story straight. I was there, I was sued.

You were sued! And they didn't even have the guts to make a good album afterwards. That is really really bad. You should support old bands like the Smashing Pumpkins. A band that released an entire album (a brilliant one at that) on to the internet for free. As for anyone who would like to insinuate that I know nothing of the music business; you're wrong. I live closer to it than many people.

yes i was...i mean lots of people were told they would be sued if they didnt remove the metellica from the shared folder...i however didnt have it in my shared folder...napster has a neat little fuction though that scanned your harddrive for extra info...since i was a nice guy i offered my private collection for download. This made matallllllllllllloca really upset and i recieved a nasty letter in the mail. They informed me that i would be taken to court for downloading their music. But like i said i already owned their music and uploaded to my computer...my cousin then stepped in at this point and looked into everything on a legal stand point. At the time...and even still today Canada didnt have downloading music laws in place as it was not public record. So with that idea the case was removed...i did recieve one more letter after that asking me nicely to remove their music from the shared folder...however by this time napster was dead and the next program had not been released.....of course your asking...how did they get my info...well i gave it to them...when napster told us you were being sued there was an option were you could send your info to them basically telling matalicaiacia that they could stick it where the sun don't shine...

and like i said since then i download freely with no remourse.
