Here's kind of a bad gaming habit in a reversed sort of way with an opposite problem related to real life more than the actual game. This is the one I'd say. After playing a lot of Grand Theft Auto it's scary that it can be even an idea to take a car swipe at someone walking down the sidewalk or having the idea to shoot the car into exploding after getting out.

The rules of the road also seem to lose a bit of meaning after playing too much of a game like that and then getting in a car. Why would I want to stop at a red light if that would make it take longer to get somewhere?



I leave my Playstation on way too long sometimes as well. I turn it on to let it load then never come back/get distracted from actually using it and the thing ends up staying on for long periods of time.

I forget to turn the console off, I don't always read instructions before playing, I don't yell at gaming characters but at people if they ask me questions while I'm playing, I easily forget where I put controllers, memory cards and other gaming stuff, I often lose videogames manuals because if I read them I don't put them back in their proper place.

I do other things while playing, like talking on the phone. In brief, I get easily distracted while playing. I rarely finish games, but I start new ones, and forget about the previous game I was playing. I leave games boxes opened for days, and I confuse them, so that I sometimes put two discs in the same box or put a game in the box of another one and leave the other somewhere else, so I can't find them for ages

I always move and shake the controller too much, like if I was playing with some virtual reality machine... I don't know if you get what I mean.

I intentionally avoid reading manuals and instructions, and find myself in trouble later.

It happened more than once that I invited someone to play and then I left them in front of the console all alone while I started other activities, like reading a book, surfing the net, chasing furry mammals living in my house (felines, I mean felines...) etc.

I don't accept suggestions and get pissed if somebody tells me what to do in a game.

I can instantly start hating a videogaming character and enjoy when it gets killed. I can even plan to have it killed on purpose just for sadistic pleasure.

I could think of others, with a little effort, but I don't think this would help my self-esteem

"Girlie Steering"! the phenomenon where people (often females who tend to be more expressive with their hands) move the joypad in the direction they intend to travel onscreen (whilst simulateneously pressing the d-pad direction), even though it has no actual effect. I do that very occasionally... when I'm actually using a joypad, and in moments when I really need to get somewhere faster!

oh just thought of one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone ever Sat there and played a racing game and actually started to lean every time they played or sit there and oooo or ohhh or ouch every time there character got hit. I remember my dad use to lean when he played racing games every time he made a sharp turn one time he was sitting on a crate leaned ,fell, and pulled the whole system with him I swear I still laugh at that every time I think about it

Hah thats my uncle mark. It was like he thought he was really in the car. Hed jerk the controller, lean, jump, yell, fall...all of the above. He was certainly very entertaining to watch..or...well laugh at
