Principles vs Benefits
As the title says: how far would you go for your career and to be successful in life? Would you be able to reach a compromise if it meant adjusting your principles just to obtain benefits in your career?

well i'm actually doing this right now. i've compromised some of the things i believe in and was doing to do the job i'm doing now. i used to have pretty long hair.. full beard... and drink constantly and whatever else... but at this job i particularly like a lot... to be successful and get the promotions i desired.. i had to get rid of certain things. i now have short hair... cover up my vulgar tattoo on my arm while i'm at work... and i dont drink anymore.
so i dont know if those are really principals.. but if they are the same as your 'morals'.. well i have none of those... so i adjusted the way i think and live to be successful and now i'm the ass man *assistant manager*. yeah.. thats alll i got.

I think you did what everybody is supposed to do in these cases. You can always let your hair grow again and wear stuff to reveal you tattoo later, if this work is not what you like. Less drinking is also good for your health

For a dream career I could try to reach a compromise. You do that very often for futile reasons, so why not for an important cause?

I've never been good at it. I'm completely stuck to my own principles and ideas. It's really hard to digest the fact you know that with a little more compliance everything would be easier. It causes a lot of troubles and gives you bad headaches

I'd be horrible if i had to change my beliefs or principles to get further in life. I'm just too "me". But at least for now, i'm lucky to be my own boss so i really don't have to change anything.

Depends on the principles and on the benefits. Some things we call principles are just fixations. It's not bad to get rid of them when life requires it.
