I do hope they'll get what they deserve. It's been said some announcement will be made in a few moments.

Yes, Milan stays in A, but it'll start with -15 points. Lazio, Fiorentina and Juventus are now in B, respectively with -7, -12 and -30 points of penalty. Juventus will be stripped of the last two titles and won't be taking part in the next Champions League. Milan and Fiorentina are also out of Champions League, while Lazio is out of Uefa Cup. Most of the managers and referees involved will be banned from 1 to 5 years, and Moggi and Giraudo risk radiation. Now they have three days to appeal to the Federal Court. That's to sum it up.
Initially the request was B for Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio and C for Juventus, but apparently Milan was not deserving B |

As a matter of fact, dan, in A there are other decent competitors that are not involved into this scandal, and as another matter of fact - believe it or not - with the same scandal players have little to do.

Great to hear at least Juve got what they deserved with that 30 point penalty they won't go up next year so it's 2 years down for them. Strange how Milan seems to always get away easily they need to investiagte that!
Does this means Inter has won last years title now? And the year before that?

I don't know what happened to the last titles. I think for now they're sort of "unclaimed". Inter made a formal request for the last title though.

Update on the headbutt-case, Zidane got fined and suspended so is Materazzi. But Zizou is getting to keep his golden ball.

They're not very coherent, those Fifa guys. Punishing both is ok, but putting an act of physical violence on the same level of some stupid insult you probably hear gazillions of times in football matches? Are they going to hide microphones everywhere next time, to be sure to punish anybody?
Anyway, Zidane will definitely treasure this Golden Ball, in case he needs a solid surface to headbutt in his moments of loneliness, or after watching for the 1,000,000th time his amazing final exploit on TV |

Agreed on the Fifa, just look at the way they instruct the refs before every big tournament, no wonder you get a bunch of clueless refs every two years they have different rules. Most refs come from competitions where they are differently instructed and for four weeks every 2 years they need to adept the Fifa way of leading a game. They need to put structure into the way they want a game lead and hold onto that.Like you said I wouldn't be surprised if in 2 years time the whole insult thing is the next thing that refs have to immediately show yellow cards for.

FIFA is losing credibility every year. They don't have a clue, it seems they like to take action according to what others say. They don't have a clear policy, rules or anything. They just go with the tide. Is it alright to be like that? People don't even know if it's ok or not to headbutt somebody in a game because of that! What if the golden ball was awarded to another less famous player? What if the same player reacted as Zizou did? What if all newspapers and magazines ignored the episode? Would their decision be the same? Would they strip another of the award or it's only the name of Zidane that made them decide it was inadequate? What if it was the Materazi guy to headbutt Zidane? Would they punish both the same way they did or not? Everytime something happens, they make you wonder whether this sport is still serious or not...

In the end they got off lightly
Lazio and Fiorentina stay in the serie A, only Juve goes down with less points deducted that is. Wednesday is the verdict on the uefa case about AC playing the 3rd qualifier round for CL, I hope they get expelled. Inter is rewarded last years title, it isn't sure what's going to happen to the one before that.
