Delusions
Do you think being a cold and distant person can save yourself from delusion an disappointment? Or do you think it's important to always show a reaction to this kind of feelings, whatever people can think of your way of acting? Do you think cold people are really indifferent or they just wear a mask to not be touched by any kind of sorrow?
What's your way of protecting yourself from delusion, from disappointment, from betrayal (any kind of betrayal, in your private life, at school, at work etc.. etc..)?

Good topic, a little depressing but good nonetheless.
I believe 'cold' people are wearing a mask. People like that usually have had a bad experience with trusting someone and being let down big-time. Thus they want to avoid it from happening again and just try to avoid the situation all together. I suppose I tend to not worry about it before hand. If it happens, it does and there's really nothing I can do about it but try and view the good points of it happening. Everything happens for a reason, so why stop it from happening. Plus, emotions as such, are a part of being human, its a fact of life. Every day something bad will happen, maybe not to you directly but it does affect your life (in some way) whether you know it or not. I think I've started to ramble again... |

But then you get the inverse, which is how I was through much of school, wearing my "heart on my sleave" and letting anyone and anything affect me in ways that they probably shouldn't have. Luckily there is a happy medium.

1) no I don't think being cold and whatever can protect you. 2) and no I don't think it's a good idea to always show a reaction. 3) I think cold ppl think that they have no feelings to feel powerful but there are ways to get around that cardboard box unless you just want to jump on it. 4)I don't protect myself. I don't feel the need to. Betrayal and disappointment are going to knock down your door or make a smaller doggy door through it anyways.

Being cold can't save you, but it's a good way to forget when something has happened. Sometimes people tell me I'm cold-hearted, but this is something I can't see from the inside. I guess it must be true, if they keep on repeating it. Anyway, I don't think every person who acts as distant and cold is wearing a mask. Some people are really cold inside, but it's their personality, not necessarily a mask.
As for me, I don't know if I have some kind of protection. Maybe I try to protect myself, but usually it doesn't work |

Yes, a cold person is supposed to be a person unable to have feelings or to show them. It's really similar to a cynical person, like someone who seem to be indifferent to anything and anyone.

Not all cold people are ruthless, at least I don't think so. Some of them just don't show reactions of any kind, and they make you wonder if they actually can feel anything when it's time. I admire some of them though, because they seem to always be in full control of the situation.

Yes, it's hard to have any kind of relationships with cold people. But the worst thing is having a relationship with a person who pretends to be cold, because he/she can explode when you're not expecting it and let anything flow all of a sudden.

True I Agree On That. People Who Pretend To be COLD Are Even Worse. Infact Anyone Who "PRETENDS" To Be Something Or Someone Is A Horrible Person.!.

I don't think there's a way to save yourself from disappointment, when you face it. You can only try to go on with your life and forget soon, or learn something to not be disappointed in the same circumstances in the future.
