On Friday, the first years (I'm in second year animation at Algonquin college.) were organizing a part for halloween. I was going to go, but didn't know what day it was plus I had too much work to do so I couldnt have made it.

On the way home from the party, there was a car accident. Two people are in the hospital with serious and minor injuries, while the driver passed away, at the age of 18. The news hit me hard, even though I've only ever spoken to him once or twice.

This horrible event made me realize that life and death is so random and heartless, that we really DO take life for granted. Or I know I do, I worry about the stupidest little things that mean nothing in the end, when I should be thankful for what I have and who I know.

So having explained this whole thread; I'd like everyone to list the people and things they are thankful for, just so you don't forget.

As for me:
-I'm SO thankful for my family and friends. I couldnt ask for more understanding and supportive people in the world. They are the strings that hold me up in times like this.
-I'm also thankful for each and every person I meet. Every one of them has taught me something about life, wether it's a hard lesson or a good one, it's all useful along the way.
-I'm also thankful for where I live and the freedom I have.
-and last but not least, my good health.

I'm thankful for my family, for the people that are close to me, for being a quite good and healthy person, for all the chances and possibilities that life is offering and will offer, for my will to live life according to my principles.

Im thankful for my family and friends as most should be. Im also glad to live in a country where we have freedom of choice and dont live in a socialized system where people are limited in what they can do and how much money they can make. Also im grateful for the chance to have new experiences in life and make new acquaintances, the joys of life are experienced through doing new things and meeting new people..........

I'm sorry you had to go through that, Zooxie. The death of someone is always hard to cope with. I hope you're feeling better now. *huggles*

Well, I think Zoox made a wonderful thread because a lot of us sometimes for get to give thanks. I suppose it is just easier for us to complain than have gratitude.

As far as I go, I must give thanks for the following people/things:

• My family - even though we are not very close, I know that somehow and in someway they are always there.
• My all-star friend - Yes, I just have one. :o She is the best friend I could ever ask for, and at times I forget just how wonderful she is. She has influenced my life in so many ways, that I shall be thankful for her for the rest of my life.
• My special someone - Because he is always there and can actually stand being with me and my overly fluctuating moods. Because he has done so much for me and has asked for so little in return, I will be eternally grateful for him.
• My other friends - They're always somewhere in reach, and I appreciate them very much.
• My health - I don't have the best of healths, but at least I don't have any sort of fatal illness and do well most of the time, which makes me happy.
• For me - Because I am living and have the ability to do whatever I please with my life. I am greatful for my youth because it serves as a stepping stone into other worlds. I am grateful because I have moral and spiritual beliefs that allow me to have stern convictions. I am grateful because I have a brain that allows me to think. I am grateful because I'm me, even if it may not be the best of things, I'm different and can bring happiness to others. I am grateful because I am still me.

And last but not least, I'm greatful for all of the wonderful people I have met here, and for the nice friendships I have formed. I keep you all in my thoughts every day.

Well i'm really sorry Gadzoox and like h_d, i hope you're feeling better now..

Now onto what i'm thankful for:

* my family - obviously even though at times things between me and them don't go the best way;
* my few but very good friends;
* my amazing strength and ability to go through hards times without giving up;
* my ability to wake up almost everyday with a smile on my face even though most of the time, days end up with tears;
* for being the kind of person that i am..even though it gets me in trouble a lot of times..lol
* for the place i live in..where i can actually get up at 3 or 4 am and go for a walk alone without being afraid of something bad happening;
* and for the very special people i met in this site..who seem to care about me, maybe, more than what i deserve.

let see well this years has been completely horrid i guess the only thing i could say i am truely thankful for would be that i am still alive and kicking. I am thankful for the little bit of family i have who claim me. I guess the thing i am most greatful for is the fact that i have met and continue to meet real down to earth people thanxs to this site people who care and have helped me get through a lot. I am thankful that kind words can do so much when you feel you have nothing left or no one cares
