I think that everyone here has attended school at one point or another. And then, I know that quite a few here are attending school at the current moment. Given this, I'd last to ask you guys: Do you, or did you, like it? How were, or how are, the school days for you? If school is a thing of the past, how then do you view it now? If school is a thing of the present, how do you feel about it?

Now for a rant...

I'm just curious to know about what other students have to say because I know that I personally hate it. Really, it is no exaggeration whatsoever. I thought High School was such a waste of time and that in college things would be better, but they're not.

*sigh* I don't know why I have such a strong dislike for school. I mean, I do like to learn about new things, but many a times it simply feels so boring... so bland. I don't enjoy college at all. It's boring. It feels like High School all over again except I don't know anyone. All my classes seem so annoying, frustruating, and just plain dull; they fail to catch my interest. I mean, I am not motivated at all! I used to love to read, but slowly school has been killing that interest, forcing me to read about things I don't want to and leaving no time to read things I do enjoy. It's been months since I pick up one of what used to be my precious books. Now all I read is how to punctuate, how to write this and that and this and that. It sucks. I guess you can say I've always been "creative." I'm not trying to sound arrogant, so sorry if I do, but all I mean is that I have always loved to read about out-of-this-world things, I've always loved to write about things that aren't necessarily true, I've always like to draw, to play games and such... but now I have NO time to do anything! I'm always stressed, I can't sleep and lately I can't even seem to eat properly because I just don't have time! I don't do anything. I mean, I always played videogames at leat twice a week and now it's been months since I've played anything. I just have to read and do all of this crap... it's really wearing me down. I know college is hard, but I'm not complaing so much about its difficulty, but about how much it has killed off all of my interests. Even English, which I used to enjoy, is a dread now.

I thought it was supposed to be fun. But hell, it sure isn't! Bleh, I'm not even asking for that anymore... all I want is to be interested... cause no matter how hard I try, things are just so distasteful for me. I even ended up dropping a class this semester because I was overwhelmed with things I didn't want to do. Now I'm only takin 10 units, which doesn't make me a full time student.

School feels like such nothingness to me. I cannot remember the last time I looked forward to going - not even in the slightest sense. It just feels like all of the loves I used to have, like reading and writing, have been killed by school. I don't enjoy doing either anymore.

I find this saddening, because again, not meaning to sound arrogant, I don't think I'm completely inane. I'd say I'm an average student and it just feels like my brain is going to waste. A lot of people think I'm "smart" and that I can do "anything I want to with my life," but I just want to hide under my sheets and not go to school... now tell me, what kind of behavior is that for a person my age? *sigh*

School is weighing down on me so much right now... my morale is completely on the gorund. I don't know... it just seems so stupid - like what I'm doing is worthless... and then I feel dumb... and then I tangle my thoughts and finally end up feeling like crap. But really, school makes me feel like a big pile of poop. It's barely my first semester and I already have no desire to continue. Sometimes I just seriously want to drop out and get a whatever job. At least that will drain me physically, but give me time to recapture the things I once loved.

Gah... school, seriously, makes me so depressed it's not even funny.

I never really liked school, mostly because I hated adults telling me what to do with my time, lol..unfortunately..when school is over, you still have people telling you what to do, and it still sux, only you gotta pay bills on top of the suckage (if you are talking about High School)

I don't mind the college life as of right now maybe because there are more adults around here and it's a little more easier to "relax." However, I can't say it's exactly terrific either. I don't have a right to say anything since I'm only taking one class but it's all due to some major problems going on in my life which are just too overwhelming for me right now. Now I don't even know how many classes I'm going to take next semester because of it. But, I guess everyone has their own problems.

What subjects you taking?

Im at college and im enjoying all of it except for ICT but im gonna keep doing it cos it is an important qualification for me to have. Apart from that its great for me cos i have lessons i enjoy and have made new friends and also see some of my old ones, i am slightly lucky in that when i have a free period i can go home cos i live bout 3 min walk away. Tho if a mate has the same free period off i normally do summit with them.

Iv only been at college for a term and think its a lot better than high school altho i did enjoy it cos i had a great laugh even if i did get bored on occasion.

I hated school and wagged most of it in the final years but still did all course work and my exams and came out with 8 GCSE's I think, I work atm but might go back to college, yawn, let me take a look at it

The best this about school is friends, that’s what keeps you going and the cool teacher if you have one lol, ahh the days were sweet and boring and detention sucks, I would say I prefer being out of school as we can all get drunk now as friends as we couldn't in school, hehe.

We were getting drunk in school School to me is like this both positive and negative things(like everything in life) but when you think back you mostly remember the positive fun things and block away the horrors
Enjoy your freedom while it lasts you can do a lot of things in school which you can't do when you work full-time so take your chance, you can work for the rest of your life.

i hate/hated school....im in college now, and it is pretty good....although i have to study of course but hey, just a life memorial....dont wanna rush into getting a job....damn, it must be worse than studying....

I have no problem saying that high school suck massive sweaty donkey balls. People are cruel, unthoughtful, narcicistical, self centered little *******s who base thier entire way of life on the current clique they belong to. They do whatever they can to prove to everyone that they are better than everyone else, usually by using the fact that they hang out with so many others who are pretty much the same to support their ideals. It's either they boast their intelligence (scolars), their attractive appeal (Preps), Their massive muscels in which to pound you with (Jocks), Their cocky language and gangsta attitudes to put you down (Punks), Their self centered, you are too worthless to talk to the likes of me (Goths), or whatever other sort of class you can think of. It's just a compiled mass of individuals who pretend that the group they are in makes them what they are. They all pick on those who don't belong in their little norm, and do whatever they can to get the point across that you are inferior to them. Sucks much.

But I'm out of high school now, and in college now, where that crap doesn't exist. So as of now, school rocks.

wow.........nice answer.... actually...in where i study now...there are still dreads.....metalheads...punks....n whatever more styles exist....ppl still like to mess wityh others than their own groups, n they still think they r better than everyone else... i began getting tired form all that...so...actually, im quite alone in uni right now ^^; just two or 3 friends..n thats all that i care

Don't worry Steven you're safe now..lol..but yeah i guess everyone has bad memories about HS..i've been out of it for 8 years and i still haven't recovered from some of the things people did to me...lol...but i also have good memories so i guess HS wasn't all that bad..it's just another page in ones history.

ooo... yea... skool... fun stuff... i'm all for just pluggin' in to the matrix and downlaoding everything... skool is so tedius and yer right it takes away from everything. I used to read and write constantly too... now i just feel like trying to make up sleep i lose form skool...

ook i dont know why people hate highschool so much, im in it, im having a hard time with some classes but aside from that my social life is wonderful, i dont single myself out with one group or the other, its stupid to just hang around with "your own kind" hehe i like going around all the school, im in the know with all the little groups of ppl, hell even the band nerds love me, high school rocks bud, everything so far has been a blast, even the stupid hard classes im in cant wait for college
