PS2 memory cards, backwards compatible?

Are ps2 memory cards compatible with PSone games on the PS2? I never had a playstation and would love to take this opportunity to play some excellent PSone games, but don't want to buy another mem card.

This sgould of been in the ps2 hardware forum but i'll answer it.You can not save any ps1 data to a ps2 memory card.Mainly because the format of a ps2 memory card and a ps1 are entirely different.Ps2 memory card has a different save format sort of like a computer and ps1 memory cards use blocks.

I bought a used memory card for the ps1 and it only costed me 5 bucks...so it's really no big deal

Just some little store round the block, I know that won't help you any unless you live where I do...which I highly doubt...

Sword 4 Hire Retired... Joined: Jan 2002 Location: Swamp hill. Age: 40 Posts: 1,632	I bought a used memory card for the ps1 and it only costed me 5 bucks...so it's really no big deal __________________ and for now the tired soldier sheathes his sword...
