A little help, please!
Hi guys.
I was wondering if anyone here knows how to use MIRC. I've really wanted to learn how to use it, since it can be helpful as well as entertaining, but I haven't. I've already downloaded and installed the program, but I'm not sure how to use it exactly. In other words, I'm unfamiliar with the process of using channels, ports, commands and all those other things. I tried looking online for some kind of tutorial, but those leave me at a total loss. So, if anyone here can give me a good link, or better yet, give me a hand so I can learn how to use it, I would be ever so grateful! Thanks in advance. ^__^ |

OK, I can teach you a few things such as getting the background of your text in one colour with your text another and how to join a channel register on entowrks so other people cant use your username, set up a basic channel and some basic commands. PM me if thats what you're looking for. But im no techie so I dunno about ports etc.

as far as my knowledge of mIRC goes, you select an "IRC network" from the drop-down box and then select a server from the drop down menu below the last one. Fill in the name fields, then hit the "Connect to IRC server" button and wait till its done its thing.
then to join a room you type "/join #roomname" in the box at the bottom. and then you'll join that room, or create it if it doesn't actually exist. But i guess you actually want a list of places to go... which i can't help with. I've only been on Quakenet and another PC games centred one, for clan related thingies. Once you figure out a room to enter, put it in the "perform" list so you'll automatically join that room when you connect. PS. I never fiddled around with Port settings, i've left them as they are and they just work. Edit: the "#help" room may be a good idea... read the MOTD for your network if it has one...
