Might And Magic VII

Yesterday I saw Might and Magic at the local supermarket for only $2

and bought it right away. When I installed the game it said my Direct X was not up to date (they needed 6...I have XP and believe it came with Direct X 5??) anyway, I updated and have Direct X 8.1 and Still can't play the game. It says everything is correct but if I start the game, I get a grey screen, then some flickering and more grey screen and then my desktop again...

anyone?

Maybe the disk is messed up?
