Unhappy D-Link 604+ Navy Socum

Can anyone out there get the vioce chat to work?? Im going crazy and I don't think anythings wrong with the router-just a configuration problem-check out this e-mail to D-Link Cust Support

I am having the Playstation/Navy Seals Socom problem with the DI-604. I had inquired about this last week without any resoloution. I have also found numerous people with the same problem. Is this problem to be resolved soon, as I need to return it to Best Buy within 5 days to get my money back and buy the proper equipment. Thak you.

-Dear: Valued Customer

Products: DI-604
Operating System: Windows 98

Thank you for contacting D-Link Tech Support Team!

According your problem described to us, here is our recommend solution:

also, try upgrading the firmware on the router to 2.03

https://support.dlink.com/products/vi...oductid=DI-604

put the playstation's IP address into the ISP.
put it into the DMZ within the router. this will open all ports for the PS2 which will let the sound come on.
the router has a built-in firewall and the ports must be specified to allow the game to work properly.

look at the directions below to configure the DMZ>

Please place your computer in the DMZ. Log into the router and click on the advanced tab. Then click on DMZ, its the last button and enter your computer IP address. Click apply.

The router's firewall is designed to block service ports in order to prevent unauthorized access. However, when you are contacting servers on the Internet that you want to establish communication with, these ports become unblocked dynamically to allow incoming response traffic most of the time. If you are running a Web Server, an FTP Server, a Game Server, or a VPN server you may wish to unblock these ports permanently so that incoming traffic can always reach a machine behind the router. This will ensure that users will be able to access your machines locally over the Internet. This is known as setting up 'Virtual Services' -Or- 'Port Mapping'. It will route any incoming traffic to a specific port to one designated PC [192.168.0.xxx] behind the router. Once this is configured, any incoming traffic on that specific port will be routed to the specified PC.

IPSEC Support:

Firmware version upgrades will support Windows IPSEC implementation in the following configuration:

Use only DES encryption in ESP mode with no encapsulation, no Integrity, in Tunnel mode and using a pre-shared key.

Open the ports that are required for your VPN/Game connection. Contact your VPN administrator or web-site that you are trying to reach via the router and find out what ports are needed.

**In order to open up service ports on the broadband router, follow these simple steps:

- Step 1. Assign your PC a valid static IP address 192.168.0.xxx

- Step 2. Open your web browser and log in to the gateway´s web configuration interface [192.168.0.1].

- Step 3. Select the 'Advanced' section at the bottom of the 'Device Information' window. Next, click on the 'Virtual Server' section.

- Step 4. Once in the 'Virtual Server' section, you will have to open the service ports desired for the designated IP address [[192.168.0.xxx]. For example, if you wanted to open port 80 for a PC with IP address 192.168.0.120, it would look like this

ID Service Port Server IP Enable
1 80 192.168.0.120 x

- Step 5. Once finished entering the service port numbers click on the 'Save' button and then click on the 'reboot' button in order to apply the changes. Click 'OK' when prompted to 'Reboot right now?'.

- Step 6. This will bring you back to the 'Device Information' window. Depending on your ISP connection, you will have to either click on the 'Renew'[for Dynamic] button or the 'Connect'[for PPPoE] button to re-establish the connection to your ISP.

- Step 7. If you have difficulty in getting your Internet connection back, you may have to recycle the power on the router by turning it off for about thirty seconds and then turning it back on again.

- Step 8. Finally, determine whether or not the service ports are accessible by utilizing the application(s).
