i would say it is, because a relationship can be anything that you have in common with that person,say you were partners in crime, technicaly that is a relationship, it is quite a broad term "relationship",
that is only technicly though it depends on your definition of the word, some people may describe it as somone you meet day to day, i suppose it just means the terms that you are on, with some one or something, there are many different types of relationships. ranging from sun and rain having a direct realtionship, to lovers in a traditional "relationship" it depends on your definition

Yes, friendship is a relationship. There may be nothing romantic about it, but it still is a relationship.
