Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana
I heard about this Strat-RPG from a friend of mine a few days ago. From what he told me about it, the game seemed very interesting. (I think) This game is the second installment of the Atelier series, with the first being Atelier Marie, which came out for the PSO in '97 in Japan. I don't think the Atelier Marie made it to the states and was only a Japanese debut. At least, I don't remember ever hearing anything about it.
An interesting tidbit on this game, though, is that this game is the first stateside release for Japanese developer, Gust, which was established in '93 in Nanago, Japan. The game's story is said to be more complex than it needs to be, but allegedly, the style (which is strictly anime style and hand drawn, not cell-shaded, like most other anime style videogames) makes it worth it. So, have any of you guys played this? What do you think about this game? Any thoughts? I think I'm going to go buy myself a copy soon because they only did make a few, and I doubt they are going to release any more. Whew, finally... a new RPG for the ps2. |
